Coach Jones should hire Stanford's DC

This isn't a Gruden thread. This whole fanbase was underwhelmed when Dooley was hired. When CBJ said in his intial PC, that he'd hire the best staff in the country...we were all equally underwhelmed when he simply decided to bring his old staff here.

The SEC is a damn Gauntlet if not a meat grinder. It isn't the Big East where you gut it out with one or two tough opponents each year. I hope CBJ realizes it's going to take a better class of coaching...and he's going to give it to us! :)

I really don't think it is the coaching. I'm also not saying we have the best coaching either. Auburn has had the talent for years, but Chizik and staff were disfunctional. Speed kills!

I don't consider it that great, unless you like 90 minute commutes, sky high taxes, municipal bankrupcies, rampant diseases and anarchy.

But the gay bay is much better than LA. From Santa Barbara to Pismo Beach and San Diego are the real sweet spots in the state.

I wonder why the rest of the country thinks we are delusional and bigoted?

If I am CBJ, here in a few weeks, I would offer Stanford's DC 800k-1mill to take over the defense at UT.

He may have a track record with Janzek, and one could make excuses about depth, and team speed, but Janzek has looked clueless the past 3 weeks, on defense.

McNeil was one of the best safety prospects in the country. Randolph was Georgia's Gatorade player of the year, in HS. Coleman isn't slow, nor is Sutton. Sap was a safety, and we have Jalen R. Mabin sitting on the sideline.

Not saying we don't need help, but much of this is a lack of defensive coaching/scheming. And let's face it, Janzek HAD all this SPEED and DEPTH at UGA, and got fired as a DC. So did Martinez.

If CBJ says he'll hire the best staff in football...PROVE IT! Right now both the DC and the OC look totally over their heads in the SEC.

Throw similar kind of money at Baylor's OC.

Put those two coordinators together and this fanbase can believe his words. Right now, this IS NOT the best staff in the division, much less in all of College Football.

I do think an upgrade of the DC is needed. DC can't coach speed, but suppose to be able to coach fundamentals.

First of all, why would CBJ fire the best of the best? We have the best coaching staff in the galaxy, right?

Second, if he fires anyone it better be Ba-joke-ian.
Dang...you got me on that one. After the past few weeks, I was thinking it was more like an encore performance for Sunseri + the Clawfense. :)

Fundamentals don't happen over one year. They are accumulate through out a four year career. Dooley sucked at fundamentals, and Jancek is paying dearly for it this year. I saw so many miss tackles that would of lead to small gains or losses on D. Positioning was not the problem.... We executed poorly.

Yep. Coach Chavis is still considered one of the best DC's in the country, and I believe he is making around 750k. So, 800k-1mill/yr is practically the same as $1.5mill there. I know, I lived in SoCal for a few years. Taxes were already high, and this last election, they voted themselves yet another increase.

A lot of Major Visual Effects Studios have gone bankrupt out there. So, it's not the honey hole many of you think it is.

What bothers me is that Hart prematurely gave Butch this big budget to go hire THE BEST...and all CBJ did is use that to give his buds a fat, fat raise.

Stanford didn't have half the speed oregon had but scheme, players in position , taking the proper angles, and fundamental tackling more than compensated for the difference. They simply out played the ducks.
And they probably have an average SAT score 5x any SEC school.

Are you paying for it with buyout and all. Got for it. Set up a meeting with Dave and Mike Hart with Coach Jones. I am sure they will be very receptive to your generous offer to pay for a new coach. OBTW, take the idiot that wants to bring Muschump with you he may chip a few dollars also.

Again I am sure they are going to be very receptive to your offer and will gladly take your donation.

Because this still is a Top 5-10 national program...that simply has been in a down cycle, that ALL teams go through! There is more to sell here, than Stanford...even though they have been doing well as of late. He'd be looking at a lot of returning talent and a No.1-2 class in the country, to work with.

LOL, you need a reality check bud.

TN doesn't have the clout to just go and hire anyone in the country. We got our horse and will ride him until he quits or leaves.
The past coaching hires prove my theory.

Thought you were talking about our defense the past 3 weeks...for a moment. So, wheels falling off the cart doesn't call for a fixin, eh? 'Specially seeing that they fell off his (Janzek's) cart at UGA, too...with all that speed and depth people are saying we don't have.
