Wow, it is refreshing to have a guy stand up there and represent our team and not remind one of Coach O. I know one has to filter out some coach speak, but I am comforted by his positive responses to multiple questions about the OL and his addressing a HEALTHY DB room being able to rotate in players in both rooms except he did not mention Center IF Cooper is not available. I am now confused by him still indicating Cooper is not already out for this week with all the reports on the boards indicating an extended period. Not sure what to make of that.

With all of the board updates stuff, I haven't had a chance to listen to Heupel's press conference. Can someone post cliffs?

GoVols247:
Heupel says the Vols are looking forward to recruiting in the Mid-state on Friday night before Saturday’s game.

Heupel feels good about the return game with the depth and competition they’ve added to the roster.

Heupel believes the team took advantage of last week. “Dialed in. Did the things that we asked them to.” Did some good-on-good work and also did some game prep. He again stresses how good teams get better throughout the season and he believes this group can do that.

Heupel on Virginia QB Tony Muskett: He’s a good player and he’s played good football and been a good decision-maker. We have to be able to stop the run and make him uncomfortable inside the pocket. You have to be aware about what might be new in their scheme because he’s a new quarterback for them.

Heupel on the status of Cooper Mays, says they will find out this week more about his status. They’ve been able to work some other guys in there over the past couple of weeks.

Heupel on the secondary: We got nicked up in the middle part of training camp, but those guys are all back and healthy. They’ve been getting work for us. That gives us a chance to rotate and we have a plan. We’re going to play a lot of guys.

Heupel on the Virginia shooting where three players lost their lives last November: We recognize what happened and there will be a moment of silence before kickoff on Saturday. We’ll also wear a decal on our helmets. That is a tough situation for that program.

Off Topic: Cardinals cut McCoy today.
