1 Saban
2 Spurrier
3 Meyer
4 B Stoops
5 Miles
6 Petrino
7 Shaw
8 Kelly
9 Petersen
10 Richt
Sumlin, Patterson, Fisher, Hoke and Franklin would all be just outside the top 10.
Franklin? Not sure if serious. He has managed 2 so-so seasons with senior laden teams. His sizzle will turn to fizzle this season.

I think this is close to how I'd rank them. Some are interchangeable but for grins, I'll start with this. Once I got around #8, I started being a little picky I think.
You are blinded by your hatred. Any fan without the bias sees that he is working miracles on West End. What you call a "so-so" season last year was Vandy's best season in almost 100 years.
Tell me.....what top 10 team has he EVER beat?
And the same guy that lost to Dooley.
And he is 15-11
And he has only been a head coach 2 years his entire life.
And he lost to a Cincinnati in his bowl.
But you would but him In he top 15 of current head coaches at D1 schools? Him just being a head coach for 2 years his entire life should eliminate that.
And what did any Vanderbilt coach do in the 50 years previous?
I get that you hate Vandy, and are annoyed by Franklin's antics. I understand. But Franklin is a great coach.
What does "what has Vandy done 50 years before that" have to do with Franklin? Just because you make a suck team into a simi mediocre team doesn't make u a top 15 coach.
What if (insert team) won 8-9 games in the next 2 years. Would that make their coach a top 15 coach?
I agree with the high rank you gave Snyder. A lot of younger fans do not realize just how monumentally bad Kansas State was prior to his arrival. They weren't simply the armpit of college football; they were more nearly the anus of college football. And Snyder has resurrected that program twice now.
Petersen, Richt and Petrino are too high on both lists.
Mack Brown should be nowhere even near this discussion.
I'll defend my stance on these:
Petersen has brought a program up from obscurity and all though at times, has won through gimmicks, has still been relevant.
Richt manages to put up good numbers each year in the East, gets "over-ranked" every year and then fades away. We all know that, but it happens year after year after year. There's a reason.
Petrino may be a scum bucket husband, but he's a damn fine coach and he promptly whipped us several years in a row when we had better talent. My hats off to him for that.
And although it pains me to say it, Mack has a title, played for another and typically recruits well. Of course he has a lot of help in that, but its factual. I cant leave a guy off a list completely that has played for a NC within the last decade.
What is equally as impressive is that his age, he's able to connect to the players of today and get them to perform at a high level. Not knocking on older coaches, but few have been able to do what he's done once, let alone twice.
