Saw something about this on the book of faces. Can anyone confirm or deny?? If true, this is AWESOME and confirms what we as a fanbase already knew. :dance2:

Rivals.com Football Recruiting - Recruiter of the Year: Tommy Thigpen

With Alabama, LSU, Ohio State and Florida State owning the top four spots in the Rivals.com Team Rankings, you'd think that one of the four power programs would boast this year's Rivals.com National Recruiter of the Year. Not so. While each program had many top recruiters reel in amazing talent, Tennessee's Tommy Thigpen takes home the coveted honor as he led the Volunteers to No. 5 in the rankings despite a sub-par season on the field. Thigpen, the Vols linebacker coach, had a hand in 17 of Tennessee's 31 signees either as the primary or secondary recruiter and simply did an amazing job on the recruiting trail.

Congrats to him and show him the money. He is a more reliable Thigpen in recruiting than Yancey was a catching a ball.

Let's just hope and pray he does it the right way, with no future repercussions or violations under him. that will always worry me. Cause it can kill a program faster than lane kiffin being fired at usc.

Go back to this board last year after NSD and many on here were accusing Ole Miss of cheating. I don't think UT did but I'm sure your concerns are felt elsewhere in the college football world.

Maybe 5 years ago that was the case. Now, it seems like the NCAA will just let most programs get away with anything. There have been so many issues with Alabama and Auburn where they have turned a blind eye. Miami got off with a slap on the wrist for a decades worth of violations. No one is even looking into Ole Miss. The NCAA is as weak as it ever has been. Now it might be a good time to cheat, because, even if you don't, your rivals probably will anyway.

Oh, and yeah, pay Thig!

Not many "best staff in America" jokes now.

Are you saying this is the best staff in America?

Let's have a non-losing season before even thinking about going there. They still have to coach them up, get a few more solid recruiting classes, win the SEC, and win the NC before making a legitimate claim. Currently the real best staffs in America are probably at FSU or Bama.
