Kudos to the Weekleys for hanging with Ivy Renfroe in the seventh inning last night. She appeared to be faltering, and the Bulldogs have a season-long record of being a comeback team. Nonetheless, the coaches rode the rapids with their starter and were rewarded, along with all of us, at the end. That's one of the most difficult decisions a coach (or manager) has to make---deciding when the time is right to pull the starting pitcher. They got it right this time, thereby adding to their already significant credibility in the process.

We play the winner of UGA vs. Arizona/Washington. That team has to beat us twice to advance to finals.

Yeah she looked tired in the seventh. But man she is a freshman. The Lady Vols look in great shape for the next few years.

Isn't the Renfroe girl from Parsons Tn? And I believe she has a younger sister that is better than she is.

Actually they live in Humboldt and go to Trinity Christian Academy in Jackson. You'll never meet a better family. Ivy is the best of the 3 sisters, but middle sister Ellen is also very good and has more of a pitcher's mentality...cool as a cucumber and a very short memory. Ivy has always had a tendency to think too much on the mound, but looks like K. Weekly is working hard on that part of her game. Ivy has always had that special something...some intangible that makes her special, that makes her a winner.

Yes, Ellen just took Trinity to the single A State Championship....their 4th in the last 5 years. She will be in Orange in the fall.

Youngest sister Anna will take up the reins for Trinity for the next 2 seasons.

Thanks for the info. I had heard that she started in Parsons but through some miracle of non-recruiting, she ended up at Trinity.

Don't know the whole story but I believe one or both of her parents teach at Trinity. I think Mom is at Trinity and Dad teaches somewhere else. Great People and awesome family.
