Florida is #1, picking up 53 of the 57 first place votes. Texas picked up the remaining 4, and is #2 in the poll.

Tennessee only received 2 votes in the poll, good enough for #56 in the nation, behind the likes of Nevada, Southern Miss, and Northwestern............

It wouldn't be any fun if they just handed it to us. I like climbing to the top. We have a decent shot at finishing the season ranked.

Honestly, I think a lot of it is Lane Kiffin is running his mouth(not that I'm opposed to it, actually, it's rather refreshing). It's good for our recruiting in a sense, but it's not going to get any extra CP votes.

Of course, when the AP starts ranking us that low, I'll be concerned.

Vanderbilt will be a better team than Kentucky this year.

I also meant to point out their vote counts as opposed to ours. Do coaches really believe Kentucky or Auburn is ahead of us right now? That doesn't make much sense to me. I believe another poster has it right, CLK has ruffled some feathers in coaching circles.

I wouldn't take much stock in this poll. Polls are irrelevant this early in the season

As stated by some above, I think its just a chance to pile on top of Kiffin while the getting is good, so to speak. UK has won 3 straight bowl games, so its easy for them to say UK is "better" and have something to back it up with. But a 25 year losing streak says otherwise. Pre-season polls are not important anyway. Especially this one, because coaches don't watch enough football other than their own schools, IMO.
