We should be ahead of Notre Dame... they haven't looked so good the last three weeks. But oh well, I'll take 9th in the nation with one loss!

no Miami
no Florida St.

when's the last time that neither one of these teams were ranked at the same time?

#9...that's about right.

I know this might make me a homer but...we should be the highest 1-loss team. We've beaten TWO top-10 teams and our one loss was to the #3 gators by a single point! I mean, wtf.:realmad:

Works for me...but i think we should have jumped the domers...

If the voters thought they could get away with it, ND would be in the top 5. Point being, they're going to give them all they can.

Can't understand why Arkansas isn't getting more respect, everyone seemed to fear Auburn as a dreaded scedule foe untill the Hogs not only defeated them but beat em down at home.

How is it possible that Tennessee is 6 spots behind Florida (who beat Tenn by 1) and Notre Dame is 3 spots behind Michigan (who absolutely killed them!!)?? And, how is USC still number 2? The coaches poll is screwed up. I'm not so much upset with our position (although I think we and Notre Dame should switch) as I am with their arrangement of the top 5!

Exactly how is a team that got beat by 26 points in the Top Ten ?

Well...I see your point. But, I have ND in my top 25 at number 9 or 10..I can't remember if I put Auburn above them or not. Who would you put above them? Auburn .. maybe... but they lost by 17 to a previously unranked team. Cal?? Well...they got thumped by 100 in Knoxville. Clemson? Well..their only loss was by one..but to an currently unranked BC team. Georgia Tech lost to ND. My point is that ND is in the top 10 because their nearest competition has let them be. One could argue that Auburn belongs ranked above ND...but I don't know. ND's only loss was to the number 5 in the country....and both teams lost pretty big.

ill take 9........But nd shouldnt even be in top 10 they are OVERRATED........texas shouldnt be like 8 or 9, i believe we should be 7th but 9 works...........i mean we have knocked off 2 top 10s by MORE then 10 points yes we lost to FL by 1 point, but if it wasnt for that BS call on leak where a hand bumped his helmet and they called back the touchdown then we wouldve won, god i would love to play the gators again

I just think there is a huge drop off from the top 8 or so teams in the country and the rest of the pack. There have to be a number 9 and 10... and ND should be one of those in my opinion. But, that to me doesn't mean they are almost as good at Tennessee. I really don't see who I would put ahead of ND besides Auburn...and knowing how much the pollsters love their preseason rankings...I don't see any way it happens. But...there is no way they should be ranked number 8. 9 at best...maybe 10.

I think that you might be giving Arkansas a little bit too much love... and ND maybe not enough..considering they did beat GT. But, I really like your top 10 besides that.

Oregon, Navy, Washington State and UCLA all beat Stanford by higher margins than ND

Not bad. Just need to keep playing hard. All the kinks will work themselves out if we keep rolling and winning.

You may be right but right now I'm a little scared of the Hogs. They're finding ways to win and that's makes me look over my shoulder a bit. As for ND, I think we'll have to wait until Southern Cal to find out how good they really are.

No..don't get me wrong..I think that Arkansas could be darn good. I'm going to leave them in the low teens for now and watch them CLOSELY. I'm not sure how much of that win was Auburn sucking or Arkansas rocking...probably a lot of both.

The reason we're behind ND in this poll is because they started way above us. That is why the system is so awful. Their one loss was a blowout at the hands of a team ranked below Florida. Need I say more?

That's the attitude. Just keep winning and taking care of business. We know 2 of either Ohio State, Michigan, Louisville, or West Virginia have to lose. If any of the others above us stub their toe and we win out, we can realistically expect at least an at large BCS bid. I just don't see Florida losing now.
