Coaches Poll Retroactively Awarding Titles

This is a direct result of not playing the UF LSU game! Since we've already decided to not play the games and instead debate who's fault it is it wasn't played now we are going to go back in time and make **** up for cases where games were actually played too!

Kinda blue font intended. Besides it's moot now that it's being discussed Bama will just claim them all anyway.

Apparently the school had to make a presentation to this special committee. I have no idea which schools did so, other than than Oklahoma State, obviously.

"Tennessee has also been awarded unrecognized national championships by various organizations in eight additional years: 1914, 1927, 1928, 1931, 1939, 1956, 1985, and 1989"

ill start with that

What organization/poll awarded us a title in 1939? I know we deserved one, but I'm not aware of anyone awarding us one.

Cant find what poll but it looks like we probably didn't deserve it. #1 Texas AnM finished undefeated as well as #3 USC. USC beat us in the Rose Bowl 14-0 snapping a 16 game shut out streak and 20+ win streak for #2 Tennessee. AnM was recognized as #1 in the AP Polls but apparently these polls came out before the final game was played. In 2004 USC finally decided beating Tennessee with the streak we had going at the time, was better than AnM's 14-13 win over #5 Tulane, regardless of what the polls decided. Interesting.
