Why is Fla St. so loved by the coaches? Still a 6 position spread vs. UGA. WTF?

Man, how many spots did we drop after we lost to Auburn? Anybody remember? I know it was more than UGA did.

I'm sure you're right. So we have a common loss (Auburn) and we beat them at their stadium. We both beat UF (they by a few more points), we beat USC by more than they did. The sad thing is even if we beat UK and Vandy that will probably work against us for SOS reasons. No way we close this spread and we will continue to be the 4th ranked team in the SEC eventhough we will be in the SECCG, have the same record as the 2nd ranked team in the SEC and what was that other thing....Hmmmmm.... Oh yeah we beat them :banghead:

Wow, that's close. If Auburn beats us soundly you would think that would be enought to get them ahead of OU.

The Bama loss last night works against them as does the ND loss. Also, much depends on the Big 12 championship game. Auburn vs UT will be a higher rated SOS game than OU vs. Big 12 North (Iowa St?).

A convincing win at Bama may be enough to flip it. I heard a BCS expert say that the only way Auburn gets to #2 is for voters (coaches/AP) to change it. The computers will not change unless the poll positions flip. Either way, if USC, OU and AU are all undefeated, the BCS is once again a failure.

I hope the BCS screws it up again and we have to have co-national champions. Public outcry is about the only thing that may eventually lead us to a playoff.

We'd need support of the schools, as well, and we all know that would never happen. Too much $$$ to be had in the BCS.

Wow, I am shocked at this poll. UGA only fell 2 spots, Florida State is 8 after NC state almost beat them but gave them the game instead. And Wisconsin only fell 5 spots after getting thumped by Michigan State? Wow! I can guarantee you that if UT were in any of these teams shoes, we would have fallen 8 or more spots. Can I get one of those smileys with the sign that says coaches poll sucks! :bad:

To answer your question, we dropped from 8 to 17. I think two teams who were then put ahead of us, that are notable, are Ohio State and Florida.

9 spots for us. That's brutal compared to what we see today.

Wisconsin still in the top 10 after getting spanked by unranked Michigan State? Why am I not surprised. Of course, Georgia is still ahead of us, and Miami is above us, even though they suffered consecutive defeats to teams with losing records. I don't think we'll ever be justified by the polls.

Until they make their votes public I no longer consider the USA TODAY/ESPN Coaches poll a valid poll an unworthy of my time.

you'll see a career politician get elected on a raise taxes platform before you see any sportscaster of any stature say the vols have been treated like the BCS red headed step child
