You really are delusional. If it were not for football this Volnation Board would not exist. The number 1 topic is the ineptitude of our coaches, especially CPF now that Sanders has left, followed by recruiting. You may be right that, because of loyality, that a majority of UT fans feel that Fulmer deserves another year or two to right the sorry state of our program, but this majority is slipping fast and you must know this. To criticize OklaVol for an excellent post is childish.(utfantilidie @ Jan 4 said:I choose to forgo the negativity of the past season and be optimistic about the future.I think the majority of the TRUE UT fans echo my sentiments. One more thing, I think Tennessee's 100,000 plus fans that continue to show up game after game agree. By the way, we're gonna beat that :horse: right off the darn board!

Interesting how you believe your opinion is obvious but also courageous and bold at the same time

(oklavol @ Jan 5 said:Actually Fulmer doesnt even have the highest winning % in the sec.
Fulmer 128-37 .776
Richt 52-12 .813
I'm pretty sure Saban also had a higher winning % at LSU but he went to the pro's.
If Richt is making 1.5 mil a year why would Fulmer deserve 2.2 mil?
Richt has won 2 sec champ. in 5 years. Fulmer has also won 2 but that was in 14 years and the last one he won was 8 years ago. Do you guys really believe after Richt has coached 14 years he won't have more then 2 sec champ.??
Also coincidentally Peter Carroll is reported to make between 1.2-1.5 million a year. So you guys really believe Fulmer deserves to making almost a million more then Carroll????

According to that link info. CPF will get a bonus of $1.05 million on 12-31-06.(cotton @ Jan 5 said:I think your salary numbers are skewed, which is easy to do with the strange packages that are sometimes put together for them. The report I heard on ESPN radio stated the "rumor" (USC does not report coaches salaries) that Carroll's new contract was worth around 3 million a year. As for Richt and the other coaches, this link, though a little dated, suggests that Fulmer is paid among the top echelon of college coaches, but not above them: http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/2003/writ...contracts.data/

if you guys had your way, we'd still have majors and peterson as coaches.
the reason fulmer hasnt made any change up to this point is because he's got so many people blowing smoke and making excuses for him.
personally I could care less what other teams coaches make, and since Saban left i guess we'll never know what his winning percentage would be after 14yrs, and why don't we wait to see exactly how Richt's % holds up after coaching in the SEC fro more than 10 yrs.(oklavol @ Jan 5 said:Actually Fulmer doesnt even have the highest winning % in the sec.

The way it is going i would say it looks pretty good so far(volmanjr @ Jan 5 said:personally I could care less what other teams coaches make, and since Saban left i guess we'll never know what his winning percentage would be after 14yrs, and why don't we wait to see exactly how Richt's % holds up after coaching in the SEC fro more than 10 yrs.
:clapping: oh you don't mean to say that the fact that CPF has had sustained success for 13 years compared to 5 years for Richt should count for anything when drawing such comparisons? careful...we don't like that kind of talk here.(volmanjr @ Jan 5 said:personally I could care less what other teams coaches make, and since Saban left i guess we'll never know what his winning percentage would be after 14yrs, and why don't we wait to see exactly how Richt's % holds up after coaching in the SEC fro more than 10 yrs.
This has happened to me in the past jr. and i caught alot of heat over it. Everybody knows how i feel about UTs coach so theres no sense in me arguing about it.(volmanjr @ Jan 5 said:What's that old saying about counting chickens before they hatch? Don't get me wrong I think Richt is a good coach but so is CPF.
Fulmer brought great energy and drive to the program initially, culminating with the NC in 98. That energy and drive has dissipated somewhat. He has made poor decisions regarding coaches, players, utilization of and developing talent and above all team discipline on and off the field. But to me the most troubling is his apparent acceptance of these shortcomings and lack of resolve over the years to deal with them. I guess one simply wonders @ some point maybe somebody else could do a better job.(jakez4ut @ Jan 5 said::clapping: oh you don't mean to say that the fact that CPF has had sustained success for 13 years compared to 5 years for Richt should count for anything when drawing such comparisons? careful...we don't like that kind of talk here.
