Top Shelf:
-Jon Gruden. - Anything can happen yet. I believe that he could return Tennessee to the top of the nation.
-Chris Peterson (82-9) Bosie St. - Proven winner, could handle the SEC. Plus an orange turf at Neyland Stadium would be nice ;)
-Gary Patterson (116-34) TCU - Another proven winner.
-Bob Stoops (148-36) Oklahoma - Great coach, though it is highly unlikely that he would leave OU.
Any of these four coaches would have a great chance to get Tennessee rollin' again. I would be very happy with any of them.

Next in line:
-Jimbo Fisher - (29-10) Flordia St. - Done well, decent chance to get it done in the SEC.
-Mike Grundy - (66-34) Oklahoma St. - Still a good option, and a slightly more realistic one at that.
These two are a step down from the elites, but we would have a good chance to win with them.

Could be worth a chance:
-Jim L. Mora Jr. - (9-3) UCLA, (32-34) NFL - He did well with a bad UCLA team, and has NFL experience. You can never take that away from anyone.
-Charlie Strong - (25-14) Louisville - Nothing too special, but decent.
-Butch Jones - (49-27) overall. (27-13) Central Michigan, (22-14) Cincinnati. He turned two terrible teams into ranked teams. I dunno if he could get it done in the SEC, but he wouldn't be a bad option if we have to go for him.
-Larry Fedora - (8-4) North Carolina - Again, nothing special. But he is still better than the people below him.
There is hope with any of these four guys. I wouldn't feel too bad about having them, but we can do better.

Dooley hires:
-Al Golden - (13-11) Miami, (27-34) Temple. Why is he even being considered? This is another DOOLEY.
-Kirby Smart - Alabama DC. Never been a head coach.
-John Chavis - Former UT DC, current LSU DC. Again, never coached. The SEC is too big for them right now.
Run for the hills if Tennessee is STUPID enough to hire any of these fools.

Too risky to hire:
-Bobby Patrino - (75-26) Arkansas - Patrino could be a very good coach. However he was involved in a sex scandle involving a young adult female which cost him his job last spring.
-Jim Tressel (229-79) Ohio State - This man can coach. I would LOVE to see him here, if it wasn't for his baggage. He had a ton of NCAA violations which cost him his job, and cost Ohio State a chance to play for a National Championship.

Tell me what you guys think.

Peterson doesn't even seem to be a option this time around. Mora Jr. Is a solid option but I doubt he leaves UCLA after one year.

I bet we fall to a up and coming coach like Doener at NIU.
