I know this is hot topic these days so here goes.....
Lets take John Gruden out of the equation. What is your top three canidates for the position of UT's head coaching job when or if it becomes available?

Charlie strong
Gary Patterson
Dan Mullen

Those are the only 3 REALISTIC choices I'd accept outside of Gruden.

Patterson, Petersen, Mullen
If it's Al Golden, I might cry! Not sure that I'm exaggerating.

Hubbs said that Mora Jr really wants to get back to the Southeast and may be interested in an SEC job. But anything more than that is just rumor.

My personal top 3 candidates would probably read like this.

Charlie Strong
Bobby Petrino
Butch Davis

From what I have been told, they will pay big money for the right coach. I believe that it will be one of: Golden, Patterson, Tuberville, or Strong. Obviously Gruden is the ultimate goal, but that is very unlikely. I could also see a Jim Mora Jr. but I believe that he would be another Kiffin and jump at the next NFL job offer.

Golden- dooley don't want never beat a team at temple with a winning record and look at what he has done at Miami less then impressive.

Patterson
Strong
Malzahn - I look at him as a Sumlin-type hire. Some team (other than Arky State) is going to get him and others will regret not taking the chance on him.

1. Chris Petersen

2.a Jim Mora
2.b Dan Mullen,
2.c Pat Fitzgerald,
2.d Mike Gundy
2.e Gary Patterson
3. We've failed.

Petersen is my unanimous choice after Gruden. After that, I'd take any one of those guys at two. I'm not sure I really prefer one over the other. Barring any of those, fml.

To aggregate other posts that list coaches that are supposedly a lock to be our next coach (other than the Grude)? That way we can find out whose sources to trust the next time around.
