Coaching staff

Ok, so I don't know if this is the best coaching staff in the NCAA, but what I liked is that Butch had a plan, brought in the guys he wanted and had success with and we didn't have to wait weeks or months speculating.

Also, these guys are loyal and have been mostly working together for years. We won't have to see the staff fall apart at the end of each season.

So for that I am thankful. The only thing we have left to gripe about now is recruiting, so that should hold us over until spring ball.

totally agree-- these guys WANT to be here and seem hungry for the challenge ahead. they all seem to realize and appreciate the opportunity they have to now be in the "elite" conference and what will be expected. At least right now, I am sold on them wanting to be up to the challenge

"Best staff" is in the eye of the beholder, and right now, Butch is the beholder who really counts. At his initial presser, he said, "We won 4 championships in 6 years, and lost a 5th championship with 7 mins to go in the 4th Qtr. That is better than any other program in football." If he thinks his program is better than any other, it is not unreasonable for him to think the staff behind it is better than any other.

I was hoping he would bring most of the Cincinnati guys. I thought it strange that Dooley only brought two from La Tech. In hindsight, that was a warning sign.

Why wouldn't you bring guys you trust? Butch won with Bajakian, Mahoney,Azzani,Stripling, Jancek, and Elder. He will win with them again.

I agree and hope his staff is awesome. I do wonder what the current players thought when CBJ told them he just left his "championship football team" (Cincy) to come be with them. I sort of chuckled because we dominated his championship team when we played them last year. This is a new baby and a championship team here means we go after the national title. Hope they buy in and we get there.

I think a lot of us have the mindset that if its not a superstar its not a good hire. Most of these star coaches are already on staffs at good programs and arent going anywhere. If Jones feels like he has a winning formula with his guys then he would be making a bad move by changing it all up now.

Other than Graham, I don't have a clue about any of these coaches and as snakebit as the program has been it's hard for me to imagine us winning any coin flips. Evidently, this is CBJ's idea of the best staff in the country. All I can do is sit back and watch.

I will see what they do with this years recruiting class. We have enough prospects to get in the top 15 if they can recruit we'll see how that turns out.

Most people forget that a coaching staff is as much a TEAM as the players on the field are.

What I see is that CBJ brought in his best coaches and recruiters from Cincy that already knows his systems and expectations well and that function well as a solid TEAM.

I also like that CBJ has brought in some coaches that are known to be good position coaches and good recruiters but that also have some SEC knowledge and experience that they can pass along to the other coaches like our coordinators on certain SEC coaches tendancies that will help with game plans.

I'll support our new coaching TEAM because TEAMwork is so important in everything about football and recruiting and TEAM means...

I think this good coaching TEAM will lead our footVol players to seeing and understanding much better the TEAM concept and that a winning culture change is already being worked on.

So far so good IMHO.

CBJ has taken a lot of heat for the "best staff in the country" statement but the fact is the best staff in the country is the one that wins the NC and if he does that he will have told the truth. Nobody thought Satan had the best staff in the country until the Crimson Turds won the NC.
