There is so much head coaching turnover this season - it's unreal.

It happens every year, but this years seems extreme to me:

Akron - Rob Ianello
Arizona - Mike Stoops
Arizona State - Erickson
FAU - Howard Schnellenberger
Illinois - Ron Zook
Kansas - Turner Gill
Memphis - Larry Porter
New Mexico - Mike Locksley
Ohio State - Luke Fickell
Ole Miss - Houston Nutt
Penn State - Joe Paterno
Tulane - Bob Toledo
UAB - Neil Callaway
UCLA - Rick Neuheisel

Let's keep this list running as changes are made... let me know if I am missed anyone as well.

I think Luke Fickell is a diamond in the rough. Bad situation he was handed, but I think he's got a good future ahead of him somewhere.

And the list isn't finished by a long shot. Randy Edsall could be out after just 1 yr at Maryland. Remember when he was the 'hot' coaching name at UConn?

With all these changes, this should have elite players committed to some of these schools (e.g., Penn State) looking around. Any chance UT picks up game changing type player?

As I said in the around the ncaa forum: I'd really be surprised to see Sherman on the A&M sideline next year. Rumors are A&M is 50/50 on the decision, but I fully expect him to be gone.

PSU recruits? Probably not. Different pipeline and now you've got Urban Meyer coaching one of their biggest rivals. He's going to clean PSU's recruiting cupboard bare.

I'd be more worried on losing UT recruits if a guy like Wilcox leaves.

I'm not saying PSU specifcally, just used them as an example.
Also, I agree that loosing Wilcox would not be good at this point. Ice is very thin on the hill and we need to be very calculating on every move we make.
