I remember hearing at one point that Webb was back home in Toledo working for the local Department of Parks and Recreation.

Cobb was dismissed from the team during the '89 season for failing drug tests.

It would have definitely been interesting to see what might have happened if Cobb had been around once we figured out that Andy Kelly was the best option at QB.

Webb blew the knee the next year in the opener of the '90 season against Pacific . . .

When Cobb got the ball handed to him inside the twenty he was going to score. Of course it didn't hurt to have Antoine Davis and Charles McRae blocking for him.

Despite the drug problems, I have always appreciated Reggie's contribution to the team while he was there. Remember, all the UT fans were heartbroken because Leroy Thompson, the nation's #! RB out of high school, despite being from K-Town, signed with Penn State. Then Reggie, also from Knoxville, and not highly recruited came to UT and was in fact a better player in college.

p.s. Speaking of great Tennessee running backs that were kicked off the team by Johnny Majors, does anyone know what ever became of Hubert Simpson from Athens?

I am pretty sure Hubert Simpson currently lives in Maryville and works as a subcontractor. I ran into his wife one day last year where they live and asked about him.

I can still remember the '89 Auburn game. Sitin' in the rain and watchin' Cobb and Webb kick butt :aggressive:

I remember that game, my sister went, she called me after the game was over to tell me about the crazy rain and I believe their was a picture of the game with the rain pelting down on the fans in SI shortly after that.
