ESPN 680 the fan just announced that UGA is in talks with the SEC and whomever makes these decisions to try to have one of the Georgia vs. Florida games take place in Atlanta at the Georgia Dome. They are currently requesting 1 of the next 4 games to be played there.

If all goes well with 1 then expect 2 of each 4 games to take place in Atlanta.

Sounds like they sign a 4 year contract at a time, each team technically has 2 home games during that stretch so if UGA wants to do a game or two in Atlanta, Florida can't really object.

ESPN said UGA can present that when the contract runs out in 2010, but I don't see this 75 year old tradition ending.

Sounds like most UGA fans are against it anyway because of tradition, and they see it as a vacation since they spend the whole week in Jax sometimes. That's too bad for them, I could see Georgia pulling off more wins if they played a few games in Atlanta.

There was a two year period in the 90's where the games were played true home and home because of renovations to the stadium in Jax. Personally, I would have no problem with every so often the game be one year in Atlanta, and the next in a Florida Gator-fan hub, such as Orlando or Tampa.

Know who would probably objecto that the most?

Georgia Tech and USF/UCF.

What's the problem with just playing the game like every other conference game... Athens, Gainesville, Athens, Gainesville... ?

I wouldn't call Tampa a Gator fan hub, this is a big bandwagon city so of course the Gators are hot here right now. During normal times this is a very pro town when it comes to football with a smaller but equal number of Noles and Gator diehards.
