Tennessee junior wide receiver and Central High School alum Cody Blanc will not play this season after tearing his Achilles tendon during the first session of training camp, UT coach Butch Jones announced Tuesday.
Hes out for the year, Jones said after the Vols finished their fifth practice at Haslam Field. We got the results back. Its Achilles tendon, and its torn, so he will miss this year.
Blancs injury occurred during a closed portion of UTs practice last Friday. He left the field on crutches, and has since watched practices from the sideline in a cast.
The 6-foot-3, 207-pound Blanc appeared in 21 games the past two seasons. He played in 10 games last season and made his first career start against South Carolina. He made his first and only career catch, a 43-yard reception, against Alabama. He also made three tackles on special teams last season.
Get Well and come back strong!
