That report would lead you to believe that college football players are a bunch of thugs and that we should be outraged by these findings. However, if you do a little research you will find that these arrest rates are actually slightly below the national average for their age group. SI is just trying to drive up hits on their site with this piece of poor journalism.

I know that I don't consider college football players to be a bunch of thugs but shouldn't we expect college students to have higher standards than the population as a whole??? Might just be me.

Looks like Nebraska will be a perfect fit in the Big 10.
