I guess you can say this is going to be the last semi normal home game for Tennessee.

Next season, college football is going to look unrecognizable with all of this conference realignment stuff

Also, I hate the way they have shortened the games and make the clock not stop after 1st downs, I feel like I'm watching a gimmick. This was the first year where college football didn't feel like it use to and I wasn't as interested because of it.

Personally, I hate the merge of the Southwest conference with the SEC. They ( Texas/Ok ) belong in their own conference. And they can take back Arkansas and A&M as well.. This busting up of all the conference into a few mega conferences sucks.
They will restructure it within the next 5 years. It is destined that colleges will share revenue with their athletes. It's coming. Money is the driving factor in all this. I expect NFL type caps ect. Once all that is figured out and they find a common ground to share the money and not have to join conferences on the other side of the map, we should get back to mostly regional conferences.

I don't like that the defense can walk slowly towards the sideline to change their defense and the offense has to wait, while the play clock runs. I wish the ref would just put the ball down and let the center snap the ball and if there on too many men on the field, call it - because they'll be a lot quicker after that. (just saw it in LSU game)

IMHO, keep Arky, lose mizzou and a&m. Don't even acknowledge the fake ut and sooners
Texas and Arkansas used to be a big rivalry , almost as big as Texas and OU. All those teams in the Southwest conference used to play each other like we do now in the SEC (better bring your A game). I can't believe they didn't want to hang on to those traditions.

Glad for the change. The SEC East has been brutal to us because we beat Florida and Georgia once every 10 years.

Move on and not having to play Florida and Georgia every season sounds like a win.

Yeah but just think of all the extra truck commercials they are able to put on TV.

OU was in the Southwest Conf from 1915-1919. They have played Texas every year since 1929, but not because they were in the same conference.

Stopping the clock after first downs was a gimmick of college football. Great move to keep the clock running

Conflated entirely different matters all in one. I mentioned stopping the clock after 1st downs was a gimmick. Glad they changed it. They should also change the one foot rule to two feet on receptions. Most certainly need to move extra point line back for PATs. The people that don't like the rule changes are the same simpletons who had different rules on games played at their houses growing up. The realignment is an entirely different matter. Lots of people don't like it. That's cool, but most football fans won't give a damn in a couple of years. Change isn't always welcomed by some. But of course, it usually is a good thing
