Just the kind of feeling you want to have on the last day of the season. with signing day around the corner.

And I totally agree with his comments about the Cotton Bowl. It's way to rich in tradition and history to be thrown together with the manufactured Outback and Fiesta Bowls.

The Cotton Bowl's bank couldn't compete with the other BCS bowls.

It would if it had the television and advertising money of the other BCS bowls. Remember, the Cotton Bowl just barely missed out on being a BCS bowl during the bidding phase prior to 1998.

For decades, the top 4 bowls were the Rose, Orange, Sugar and Cotton. All had big conference tie-ins.

Rose = Pac 10/Big 10
Orange = Big 8 (now part of Big XII)
Sugar = SEC
Cotton = SWC (now part of Big XII)

Hmmm. Curious. No mention of Simon under #4? Did I miss something, or did they?

I don't know doc, I was wondering about that too. I swear that I saw his name on one NFL draft list. I think that he will be staying though don't you?

Haven't heard otherwise. Coming off a lost season due to injury isn't usually the most productive (/lucrative) time to enter the draft.

No it isn't. I hope he can have another full recovery and get through next season healthy. I was shocked when he was injured again this season. But I think that Gaither came in and never missed a beat. Omar should be even better next year too. I am excited about our defense. I think they will be back to that Tennessee D that we all know.
