After watching Monday Night Football tonight and seeing how controversial that last call was (dealing with the replacement refs) makes me realize why I love my college football so much more than the NFL. JMO!

I laughed when I saw that one replacement ref was kicked out of the Lingerie Football League because they didn't think he was good enough to ref there.

I like them both equally.

The nfl has more parity at a higher level than any other sports league in the world, and I'll be watching all day Sundays again once the regular refs are back on the job.

The main thing that hooks me with cfb is that every game is life or death.

Problem with both is that you can basically fail to be the champion of a sub-class but be the champion of the league.

I'd love to see the NFL move to a 9-game regular season (3 games against each division rival) and apply a point system to deciding the league and playoff pairings (team gets 1 point for winning each series with rivals; most points in a division wins; the more points a team has, the higher seeding it has in the playoffs). Also, this would give the NFL enough time to have 3-game series in each playoff round.

And, yes, I understand this is a pipe-dream.

You're that guy on the conference call who always tries to make a point out of left field, causing everyone to mute the mic while they look at each other and whisper "WTF is this guy thinking?"

I wish they would separate themselves even further from the NFL... They're killing the NFL slowly.....

The NFL has proven that they don't give a rats a$$ about the fans time and time again. This referee debacle is just the latest instance. The NFL network sounded like MSNBC taking up for Obama monday night. The fans are so loyal it doesn't really matter what the league does, they'll be there.

The players don't even care, they're gettin paid. If you didn't watch a game you could never tell who won or lost by looking at post game handshakes. Look at the post game video when the bucs fired off on the giants kneel down. The two coaches are fighting at mid-field and players are hugging each other and laughing in the background. They don't care why should I invest the time or money to watch.

Chris Johnson pushed me away for good with the "I don't have a real job like the fans" comment. Hope that fool is ridin a garbage truck with Vince Young in a couple years

I've said it before, but it's why I have found such an affinity for soccer lately.

1. They're still okay with declaring a draw. Football existed just fine in this country for a century while allowing for ties after sixty minutes. I don't see why it's necessary to declare a winner in every single game, especially in a sport that does not allow for equitable extra time, unlike baseball for instance.

2. How to determine a championship? You play everybody else in your league once at home, and once on the road. Whoever does the best out of that wins the championship. Done and done.

What I meant was that if you're a good football talent, then you play in the NFL. In basketball, baseball and hockey, there are plenty of guys of good quality players in other leagues around the world. Granted, nowhere near the ones here, but they're out there.

College>pro. Pro is too boring, very select few give a crap about the game, they have nothing to prove.. college...players are trying to get to that next level, so they care way more, the pagentry of the game, the excitment of a must win every week, or your done, in some instances.. watching the different style of offenses, from washinton st, to georgia tech.. college is far better than pro, and it isnt even close..

Agreed about soccer. On top of league championships you still have the tournaments also. I guess the amount they can play in one week helps that. Much better system.

There are, but regular season championships are about on par with tournament titles in terms of importance.
