College GameDay - ESPN

Not that I don't like the publicity for the Civil War but I can't believe they wouldn't choose another game, like the Big 12 or ACC CG.

I wonder if we'll see the first time that there are more opposing fans then home team fans at a GameDay set? :)

I reckon so. What do you think are the chances the Beavers pull an upset on your boys?

Didn't they ruin the championship chances of Joey Harrington's Oregon team. Anything can happen in rivalry games.

Honestly, I'd like to see Oregon in the NC game, but these rivalry games can go either way. OSU is fighting for a bowl game.

Nope. That was Stanford. AT Autzen no less. 3 Blocked Punts in that game. :banghead2::banghead2::banghead2:

The second most painful game in Duck history.

Very little, IMO. Their defense is just plain bad, secondary in particular. The best hope they could have would be to stack the box, hope that Steven Pea (a beast of a D-Linemen) shuts down James and make Thomas beat them with his arm and feet... which he would... badly. Plus... Their offensive play calling has been atrocious all year long. Quiz is a good back but, with him as the exception and his brother out, they just flat out don't have the guns to keep up... or even close.

They may be playing for a bowl game but that doesn't matter in my opinion. This game looks a lot like the 2005 Civil War... A 10th ranked Oregon, 11-1 with their 1 loss coming to #1 USC was playing a 5-6 Oregon State team fighting for a bowl bid...

56-14, Ducks. Most one sided game in Civil War history. Look for a similar result Saturday. :machgun:

No contest whatsoever.... Hands down Dixon tearing his ACL at Arizona.

Cost us a National Title and a Heisman. :furious3:

I was absolutely in love with Dennis Dixon. He was one of my favorite players the year y'all went down to Ann Arbor and kicked Michigan's a$$. I still remember the fake Statue of Liberty that y'all ran and he just walked into the endzone. He had some awesome highlights. A real shame he got hurt.

He was a truly special player. I've been a Duck fan all my life and that year I was a Sophomore at Oregon and that was one of the most simultaneously bitter and sweet football seasons ever. It just felt like OUR year. Dixon goes down. We lose the last 3 (Including a 2OT heartbreaker at home in the season finale to Oregon State) and finish in the Sun Bowl. Talk about Boom to Bust.

The beavers look horrible, but this is one of the most heated rivals I know of. Throw the records out the window for this one

I was indeed. It was the season opener. Beautiful day. Sunny and 70's. I remember leaving the game and talking with one of my buddies about how phenomenal the team looked and how, at first glance (season opener and all) this team looked special.

The only home game I missed that year was the ASU game. The only top 5 vs. top 5 game in the history of Autzen stadium, I had an ROTC FTX that weekend and I remember coming back into the barracks at Camp Adair just in time to flip on the TV and see Dixon go down with an injury which was said to be minor though he didn't return. We now know THAT was the ACL tear. He just aggravated it in the UA game. :cray:

Also the game where the Duck beat the hell out of the Cougar after he spoofed the Duck's push up routine.

YouTube - Oregon Duck vs Houston Cougar

Don't mess with Puddles. :machgun:

I was also a student at this time and went to both of these games. I watched the Duck destroy the Cougar from 20' away.

And when Oregon recovered the onside kick against Oklahoma! hahaha

I was a Freshmen for that one, my very first game at Autzen. Though I'd grown up a Duck fan, I never got to make it to Autzen for a game till that day. What a first game to watch.
