College Playoff Games on Campus

Whenever they start the expanded playoff they absolutely should be on campus. The atmosphere in those games would be electric.
I’ve been beating this drum for a while. I think the first round (5-12) is supposed to be, but sadly the quarterfinals will be at bowl sites, which I find to be ridiculous. You’re not even rewarding the top 4 teams w/ a home game and you’re forcing the fans to travel to Dallas, Indy, Tampa etc…

Agree 100%. The 5-8 seeds would be hosting a playoff game. 1-4 seeds would only play in major cities, maybe on the other side of the country. Not only is it a competitive disadvantage, but think about the MONEY, in additional revenue, if you get to host a playoff game. This needs to be addressed.

Yeah the neutral site games won’t make sense with the expansion. Whenever you get to the Final 4, I am cool with neutral site at that point.

Exactly. Seeds 5-8 should get to host a game. And then 1-4 should get to host a game. Then have the semifinals and finals at neutral sites. That way, there's an advantage to being a Top 8 seed and ANOTHER advantage to being a Top 4 seed.

Think about it like this too. What if Ohio State or a great traveling team slips up and falls to a 5-12 seed and they get past the first round and play an undefeated UCLA or a team that doesn’t travel well in Vegas or Tempe? Who is going to feel like the home team? Ohio State who bought 60k of the tix or the top 4 team that went undefeated and earned that first round bye, but will basically play a road game.

Hadn’t thought about it but I 100% agree. Let’s remember that it’s college football. Those playoff games on campus would be awesome.

Good article, and good video that pops up between Dan Wetzel, Pat Forde, and Ross Dellenger. Putting the CFB world on notice

It would be asking a lot of fans to travel all across the country for 3 games.
