Anybody who thinks college sports are about student athletes and not money need to read cnnsi today. Andy staples has a great article shredding the hypocrisy of the schools.

College sports are nothing but a sham and a farce and I dont watch as much as I used to because of it.

Actually, anybody who truly thinks that is a moron. College sports are minor league sports, plain and simple.

College sports is a large scale racket, I have been saying that for years. It's organized crime right out in the open.

It will become obvious to all once the super conferences take hold and the country is divided into only 4 conferences. At that point, or soon after, colleges will align directly with NFL teams and be nothing more than farm teams for respective pro teams. Extreme restructuring or elimination of the NCAA will occur.

Did you see tha article about St. Joseph's refusing to release a basketball player who graduated with a year of eligibility remaining and went to UAB, because they offer a grad program that isn't at St. Joe's? The player wrote the piece himself.

Todd O'Brien: St. Joe's won't give release to play at UAB - NCAA Basketball - SI.com

And, here's a piece on NBC ripping Martelli.

Phil Martelli needs to grant Todd O’Brien his release, then a rule change should be made | Beyond the Arc

Edit, for full disclosure: NBC's piece says the player was once involved with a stolen laptop:
