It’s good to see you around FG!
I hope all is well this Christmas season?

Florida always starts off in the top 5…..I’d rather be at #5 this time of year than #1. LSU is going to be an interesting watch this year.

I honestly think you could draw those top 5 SEC teams out of a hat to determine your preseason top 5.
Wake is going to be tough but I don’t know how deep they are? Sure they can go toe to toe with anyone on a Friday night, but what about the rest of the weekend?
Stanford’s rotation is a big question mark.
Louisville will be tough and Vandy is what it is.
I can’t wait for baseball season!!

So I thought the Matthews kid from Stanford got drafted, I was wrong.
Their rotation will at least be strong on the front end.

Doesn't matter where you are at the start, it's where you are at the end that counts. Remember how great we were last year but still came up just one game short? That's why they play the game

Doesn’t it seam a bit flawed that a team can be #1 in the polls for the entire season, win both the SEC Regular Season and SEC Tournament. Become the #1 overall seed in the Tournament, but can’t finish any higher than 9th in the country if you lose one series in the Super Regionals?

I think it’s 5 of top 7 and 6 of top 9. But still pretty stout.

I’m so glad TN isn’t #1. Just way too much pressure and unreasonable expectations. Ole Miss peaked at the right time with barely even making it to Regionals. IIRC, they were the “last team in“. Baseball is such a tough post season sport.

Has the SEC always been considered the dominant conference?
For a long time it was the teams in California, Arizona and Texas that dominated along with university of Miami. I’m guessing the SEC became dominant in the last 15 years or so as a conference. I think Georgia may have been the first SEC team to win the CWS in 1990 followed by LSU winning 4 or 5 times in the 90’s after Georgia. That was probably the start of SEC dominance.
