Did anyone else just see that?
Boise State was stopped to bring up 4th and 1, leading by 5. With :38 on the game clock and :08 on the play clock (both moving), the refs decided to review the play. The call stood, but they reset the play clock to :25 and only reset the game clock to :45. The commentator said they'd given CSU a free timeout, not knowing the clock would start on the ref's signal. So, BSU used the new play clock to take additional seconds off of the game clock.
CSU then made the stop to take over. CSU oddly tried desperation laterals on their next play, despite it not being the last play. They crossed the 40 and then were called for a forward lateral that went out of bounds with :04 left. The runoff ended the game, preventing a Hail Mary try. Of course, there should have been :14 left, not :04.
