Agent: Indianapolis Colts agreed to release WR Marvin Harrison - ESPN

INDIANAPOLIS -- Marvin Harrison refused to take a pay cut. The Indianapolis Colts couldn't afford to keep him without one.

On Monday, the two sides reached agreement on one thing: Harrison will be a free agent.

Agent Tom Condon told The Associated Press that Indianapolis has agreed to release the franchise's all-time leading receiver, although an official announcement is not expected until Tuesday or Wednesday.

Colts fan. Will miss Marvin, but he really has lost something and that is sad. He's such a class act, too.

Good riddance. Disappeared in the playoffs. Harrison has regressed and Wayne has gotten better.

Because MH is 37 and Wayne is in his prime.

Other than a roided up Bonds who doesn't get worse as they get older?

Saying it the way you did is not an apples to apples comparison. Saying MH has regressed is stupid without factoring age. Your statement required an "obvious" response.

No it didn't. He has regressed. It's pretty obvious it's because of his age.

You now have one of the best receivers in the history of the league, with a chip on his shoulder and the feeling of I have to prove something to everybody mentality.
The right situation, and he will light it up again. To think at 37 years old he's done is not knowledgeable. The Colts may not regret it,but it is a loss. One injury to a receiver and it will be a huge loss.

he wasn't in the right situation last year?

To be honest if my Titans land a younger free agent WR or draft one I wouldn't really mind singing Marvin to a reasonable one to two year contract. I hated the times Peyton and him hooked up on our secondary and would love for it to happen to them twice a year.

How can he "prove something to everybody" if he can't even run anymore? The only way Harrison could be any more done is if he were dead.

I fail to see how this is a "loss" to the Colts, considering that they basically haven't had Marvin Harrison for two years already.

I don't view this as a loss at all. If it was Wayne on the other hand, I would be very worried.

They'll need to find someone to replace him. He wasn't near his usual self, but still better than what they've got to fill in for him. Very little there behind Wayne and Gonzales. They've gotten rid of some of their backup TEs that were good receivers, too.

If the Titans don't make an active effort to pursue Marvin Harrison, I'll be sorely disappointed. Of course, we're the Oakland A's of the NFL. Can't spend an extra penny on anyone. Would be nice to have a good receiver on our team though.

If the Titans sign a 38 year old receiver with at least one bad knee, regardless of how good he was for most of his career, they won't even sniff the playoffs.

Have you seen how bad our receiving corps are?

Even though he is 37 with a bad knee, he's still better than most of our current receivers.

Anquan Boldin might be something the Titans should consider as well.

I'm sure Manning can find somewhere to complete those 60 passes. Gonzales will get a lot more of those catches (I'm guessing maybe half of them) and Clark will continue to get his 75+. I think they'll be fine.
