Allison Maurer (and Dave Lawson) have made an impressive impact on the team in a short period of time. Can't wait to see the results after they've had another 6 months on the job.
For Maurer the nutrition bar is a dream come true and a vision she has long had, and the creation of the refuel center has made Maurer and her staff a fixture in the lives of the players dramatically improving results.
..."I think this off-season we really crossed that threshold. With my office being right here (in weight room). They have no choice but to see me everyday. They have no choice but to hear my voice over and over again. Plus with the new strength staff, they have really empowered me in my area to accomplish what our goal is. Everyday, they are telling the guys they need to refuel and they need to meet their goal weights and that sort of thing. It inspires the players to make the right choices and do the right things. I think this off-season was absolutely when they started buying in a lot more."
That buying-in saw the players lose 331 pounds of fat and gain 275 pounds of muscle, based on data found in testing done with the body-pod machine that is in Maurer's new office. One of those changed is right tackle Ja'Wuan James, who went from 335 pounds to 315 pounds.
