Complete Bowl Season Wrapup!

Yah, we also played in more bowls (12) than any other conference (9 or less). That's a lot of good revenue to share out. :)

So it stands to reason we'd win more, having played significantly more.

But we did have the best winning percentage of any Power 5 conference. By a smidge.

The SEC beat Big10 East champ, Big 12 champ, Acc champ, plus TCU and OSU.

I highly doubt that Arkansas, A&M, Auburn, or any SEC team fans are at home going, " Wow. I' so happy UT beat the ACC Champ. That makes me feel so much better."

I wasn't for any SEC team in any Bowl game. (Maybe a tad rooting for UGA over OSU because I dislike the Buckeyes the much, but really didn't care.)

I think it is more of a statement on competition within a conference.

To win overall you have to win at the business side of it. SEC wins are good for SEC teams.

Money isn't an issue with any SEC team.....
That has a lot to do with the fact the SEC keeps winning. Winning conferences pay well. I'm happy some of the players are getting paid what they deserve too! But that's beside the point.

Bowl money? Nah. That has nothing to do with it.
Payout is per team.......not to the winner.
Bowl money and then their recruiting efforts which helps them build a better team to get back to the bowl.

Winning is essential to getting the right players. The best players want to play for a winning conference and a conference that pays them. Otherwise they can go play somewhere else.

Then Good............Hope all the recruits go somewhere else when a 6-6 Missouri team loses in the Weedeater Bowl.

Big Twelve won 2 of 7 or 22% of their games. About what one would expect.

I know it still counts but the SEC going 7-5 includes both wins by GA. Conversely for TCU but that conference blows.

So if you look at how many SEC teams won a bowl game - the SEC finished 6-5 or 55 percent fwiw.

I can't recall if it's still true and am too lazy to go look it up, but at many points our #10 team in the conference is playing like someone else's #5. So while we do take some losses, it's not always "even" fights so to speak
