Brother, I think we will beat Auburn...I truly do. That's the weird part about it lol But, I just cant accept for us not to score one touchdown on the road. Messed up man...

Please elaborate on your position that we will beat AU.
Critics say you are only as good as your last performance. That Missouri game was tough to watch and I think we match up even worse against AU.
I like our chances of winning the last 2.

Good post!! I agree! Why do we keep making excuses for our team?? Bottom line is that at some point and time they need to start playing like a football team. The offensive line is a disgrace and the defense is not showing up for the games!!!

I agree completely. Not winning against a Top 10 team in their house is one thing, but getting waxed like we're a FCS or Div. 2 team is another.

There is absolutely NO EXCUSE whatsoever for the way we got annihilated by Mizzou. NONE !!!

Every sunshine pumper, excuse making, apologist post I see on the board after a pitiful performance like that is utterly sickening.

Among that entire tirade... I do agree that Josh Smith is having a problem catching the ball. And that is a problem when your primary role is to receive.

He had his chance - Dont expect to see him playing next season or beyond - he is just a walk on

OP-

Relax stud, everyone has a bad game some days and this one was ours. Stay motivated, we have the 2nd ranked recruiting class and just got the Berry twins' commitment. Also, it isn't like we were some awesome force to be reckon with the last five seasons. Patience to allow CBJ to get his team established is needed. This is the only way we are going to get back to Tennessee swag, until then give your support to these players and Go Vols!

Can you people really be happy after that performance? Really? How are you just so la de da after every pummeling?

It's called beaten wife syndrome. We have been beat by UT football for five years now. But I love them, and would not want to be anywhere else. Go Vols!!!!

What exactly do you propose we do about it? Keep complaining!? Because that's really gonna help, just as Forrest Gump's mother once said-"You have to put the past behind you before you can move on." Or something like that, but you get the point

Y'all are hilarious.

Overreaction coupled with lack of football knowledge= comedy gold.

Im ready to hear all the excuses in the world after that DISGRACEFUL display of football on Saturday. Now, I knew we really didn't have a chance at winning that game, and that's fine. But, you're telling me that we couldn't even score a touchdown...ONE TOUCHDOWN?!!! Speed or not enough speed, this is THE UNIVERSITY OF TENNESSEE! We aren't UTEP or some cupcake that rolls into Faurot Field, but that's how we played and its unacceptable! Our Vols played scrared and like little b#%tches. Tiny Richardson and Josh Smith need to get their act together. That drop for a TD was pitiful!

I know Ill get crucified for bi t ch ing and moaning and being negative but somebody has to step up once and a while and do it....ITS NEEDED! Quit coddling this team and making excuses for them. Again, I don't care that we lost..it was to be expected. But, for that team to come out and bumble the way they did is inexcusable. CJB knows it and it showed on his face the whole night. He looked so red in the face because he and our fans were embarrassed! I guarantee Dooley would have scored ONE touchdown with this same team..and hes the worst coach ever to walk the sidelines.

Yes, I will be happy with a 6-6 record and a bowl game win considering our brutal schedule. But, that performance was unacceptable and its alarming.

Maybe, but they also would have dumped 70 on us.

Because we know what lies ahead! The future of TN is bright we already know what CBJ is bringing in! We WILL win the east and a sec championship within next 2 years mark it down!! Any team in the position UT is in right now would be in the same boat if they had to play our schedule this year!

C'mon man. This is the response of a "cool aide" fan. Please don't reply with we are going to win a SEC Championship in 2 years. Are you kidding? How does our SEC schedule ever get easier in the years to come? I just can't figure some fans out. Before we post that we are going to be SEC Champs in 2 years, we might want to beat either ALA, GA, FLA.
USCe is not the "BIG 3." I like the win over Spurrier, but longtime VOL fans want wins over the BIG 3!

If anyone were stomping their feet about not winning the SEC... you'd have a point. If anyone were mad that UT didn't beat Bama or Oregon... you'd have a point. If anyone were mad about not beating UF, UGA, and MU... you'd have a point.

But in those last 3 you have three winnable games. A coaching decision made the first one uncompetitive... we now know that UF should have been a VERY winnable game. UGA was inches short but also a function of the game plan. MU was a major step backwards. A team with marginal talent absolutely smacked this team AND coaching staff around.

Swag? Time? That sounds nice but the bar is being set MUCH too low by WAY too many of you. If you want to say that Mizzou's overachievers should have won... that's fine. If you want to make some excuse for the UF game, that's fine. If you want to say "Oh so close" for the UGA game, that's fine. But to excuse all three or to simply blame it on a "lack of swag" or players... that's not fine.

I would love to believe that and KNOW that this class has some good talent in it. That's getting the Vols half way there. The question mark is STILL whether the coaching will get UT the rest of the way there.

The Mizzou loss and a potential 6-6 finish... will NOT demonstrate the type of coaching needed to win the SEC EVER under this staff much less within two years.

Have Vol fans accepted losing as the new norm?

What kind of stupid question is this? Do you honestly think anyone here "accepts" losing? Of course we don't! But what exactly do you propose we do about it? Fire our first year coach without giving him time to recruit and develop talent? Part of the problem with our program has been the coaching turn over for the last 6 years! CBJ has to have time! He's going to need at least 3, maybe 4 years to recruit the players he needs and time to develop them. It really is that simple!

I hear ya sjt.

My problem is we look like two different teams. Inside of Neyland I can see where a "2 year expectation" is warrented. Outside of Neyland it looks like we'll be conducting another coaching search in a couple of years.

Crazy!

Now that this public service has been performed, when can we expect the wins and great performance to follow?...Knew we were missing a step...wish you had done this before the Oregon game :)

Listen Champ, please let me know which team in College Football history have winning seasons after 4 head coaching changes in 5 years and in some cases 5 out of 5 position coaches. Now after multiple losing seasons, our current strength of schedule, poor recruiting classes, and a coaching change, realistically, where should our expectations be at currently? Please explain? Otherwise, stay motivated, give it time and Go Vols!

No it isn't because it isn't true. UT's 4* players on both lines just got pushed around and dominated by a bunch of 2/3* guys. The TALENT was there for this to have been an entirely different game.

I am disappointed with the O but far more with the D.

Tiny was OK imo. I am uncertain why J Smith is a starter and Dallas quit the team.

The OL... how many times do they have to be seen standing around after a play ends before someone loses their job? The ONLY guy I have seen blocking to the whistle this year is Crowder. Others probably have but that guy seems to do it any time he's in.

Just the "team"? Mizzou just ran that sweep again... UT's DC still hasn't adjusted.

6-6 will be an underperformance of the talent on the roster and will NOT be a good indicator for the future under this staff. It will not "condemn" them to failure... It will simply be what an "average" coach could accomplish, not a championship coach.

What we have is a failure to communicate. This team has some talent, but not real talent at the skill positions. And we lack speed in a big way. Speed kills. You can not teach speed. Either you have it or you don't. If you think this team, one year into a new program, is just as talented as a Missouri team that has been in the same program for 4 or 5 years, you are insane.

Who says that Missouri has marginal talent? You? What authority do you have? What I saw Saturday was a fast/quick defensive line, that caused havoc every play. I saw big tall fast receivers that blew by our secondary like they were standing still. Missouri has talent. Don't kid yourself.

I actually hope you are correct. I could see some reason to give latitude if it is just as simple as the young guys learning to play on the road. Unfortunately... the young guys vs Mizzou didn't play much worse if at all. Dobbs made some critical mistakes but good grief... the kid did a nice job running and throwing the ball for much of the game. There were some bad plays at WR but nothing we have not seen at home.

The guys who really stank it up imo were the OL's, D front 7, and Neal.

I didn't expect UT's D to shut MU out. But I also didn't expect them to be completely unable to defend a simple sweep.

Man, chill. It's not like we lost to unranked Troy or Buffalo or Wyoming. It was a top 10 SEC school and we started a true freshman on the road.

The defense vs some really talented wide receivers. Everybody is freaking out when the season is going about like everyone expected. Or should have expected if you aren't completely blind to the situation of our football team right now.

We have some real need for speed. This big recruiting class will really help. I aint worried one bit. And we just got the Berrys!

BOOM. now STFU and cheer for this team. We got another 3 games and we need two of them to reach what most ppl expected.
