Completely Different Style of LV Basketball

Intense aggressiveness =
Lady Vols TENACITY!!! 👏👏🧡🍊

Great post... I was thinking after the win... the style of play, the physicality, the energy, the work ethic, the unselfishness... this is so different to watch that I'm still trying to process it all.
And I don't care who you play, hitting that many 3's from so many players is still quite amazing. You don't see it even in warmups and this was the entire game

I read the whole article, just unbelievable! Just what Tennessee needed. Looks like the players are not going to be in great shape, but the best shape. Reminds me of how Bear Bryants and Nick Sabans players would wear out their opponents in the 4th quarter because the other teams were wore out by then. Of course having so many 4 and 5 star players on your roster helped too. This also kind of reminds me of Josh Heupel having enough skilled players for his defense to keep substituting to keep the players/defense fresh wearing out the other team's offensive line. Sure looks like a winning combination to me. No more boring LV basketball games that were hard to watch--much overdue. How lucky are we to have hit the lottery with Danny White?

Defense, rebounding, shooting (with accuracy) and....TAKING CARE OF THE BALL! The improvements are stunning.
Last year's Lady Vol team averaged 15 turnovers per game for the season, not a huge amount more than the current 13. I expect the current team's number to tick up a bit once they get into the meat of their schedule. Last year's team was a -3.7 in turnover differential as their opponents only averaged 11.7 turnovers per game.. Team 24-25 is at +14 . That is a +17.3 improvement in turnover differential. I do agree with you though. Given the pace of play and the number of possessions the Lady Vols create, 13 turnovers per game is remarkable. I wonder what the ratio of turnovers to possessions would look like? I'm betting it would make that 13 look even better.

Funny thing about t.o.s last year was some of our best games were high t.o. and some of our worst were low. It didn't seem to matter alot to the outcome.

Definitely agree the low t.o. number so far this year has been remarkable. Hope it holds. It helps SO much to have a capable, confident PG. IMO, the play of Spencer, along w the fast track of Coop's star, has been key. Love JP down, but lack of that last year was a killer.

Our turnover rate this year is 13.8% which is 9th in the NCAA! Last year, it was 17.1% for 69th in the NCAA.

I was using the cumulative stats provided by the UT Athletic Dept. I wonder why the 2 turnovers per game discrepancy between them and the NCAA? Whatever, we both agree this team is much more efficient.

I think your cumulative stats were correct, too! The stats I shared were turnover %, so the % of possessions that we turn it over (rather than the actual number of turnovers).
