What did Ainge end up with as a Comp. %?
Last week he was at 68% and on the verge of having the best year ever at Tenn. in that category. Anybody know?

...that arent named Clausen.

Especially since the Casey completed 61% of his passes, and was 34-10, and 14-1 on the road, with 9,500 yards passing, second only tooooo Peyton Manning. In fact, his completion % was only 1.5% different. Further, he lost only 4 more games than Peyton.

Such an awful quarterback. When with people like you look at the stats rather than place all sorts of blame on a GOOD quarterback! :furious3:

i'm not really in the mood for this argument again, but I'm thankful jwells has casey's back. at least someone else here saw his talent.

in all fairness, in a big game situation, casey clausen is one of the last quarterbacks i want in the game.

okay maybe my statements were a bit strong, but as it goes, over the last 15 years i rank casey clausen behind manning, shuler, kelly and martin for those i would want in a big game, and in front of a.j. suggs and brother rick. the jury is out on ainge at this point because i haven't seen him play his senior season.

Being at the games for wins in the Swamp, Bama, and at Georgia sold me on Casey's "big game" abilities.

all of the quarterbacks i listed have beat those teams, save manning and florida. i dunno, i agree that he was a good quarterback, but i just didn't feel as confident with him in the game as i did with the others.

That's fine, it's the hatred towards the 2nd-alltime statistical leader that gets me.

i don't really hate him, although his apparent affinity for zimas and jolly ranchers kinda bothers me.

Not mentioned yet I don't think...

Erik Ainge finished second in the SEC pass efficiency rating.
J.Russell,LSU....68.5
E.Ainge,UT.......66.9

That is quite the turnaround.

it had to suck to be casey. no one really expected what we got out of martin, so clausen comes in to be the next manning. No one can live up to those insane expectations and he practically did, but it was all for naught. he had no chance here @ UT. I remember his senior year I got into a debate w/ a fan in the stands. She couldn't stand Clausen and made the point that Clausen is "too good to even run through the T with everyone else" that he walks out before all of that. I just stood dumbfounded until I was finally able to explain to her that he was an elected captain of the team and he had to come out for the coin toss.

Most of those guys you listed ahead of Clausen didn't have Randy Sanders calling their plays. Also, Clausen played through two seasons with some of the worst rushing teams I've ever seen UT field. Throw in the fact that he played through all kinds of injuries, and I think he deserves some respect.

can we add that he spent time having to rely on leonard scott as a primary receiver? peyton and martin, for that matter kelly and shuler shared in our Wide Receiver U reputation. somewhere somehow that disappeared.
