Fellow VFLers,
I've been working on this spreadsheet off-and-on throughout the summer, and with the season kicking off tomorrow, I decided to post it. The spreadsheet lists all of our recruiting classes from 2002-2015, including the players' 247 composite ranking, 247 ranking, and Rivals ranking. I may add some more tabs to the excel spreadsheet over time - such as rankings data that shows the dramatic improvement in instate talent - but that can wait for now. I apologize for those who are only on this site via mobile - I doubt this spreadsheet will be of interest to you.
In addition to the recruiting classes, there are also a few lists that may spark some friendly back-and-forth dialogue, including the most overrated and underrated recruits as well as the players that I believe have made the biggest impact while at UT (purely subjective, of course). The spreadsheet opens up in this tab. I tend to lurk more than I post but I may join in if the dialogue is lively enough.
Anyway, for those who love history and numbers (like me), this spreadsheet may give some interesting insight as to how our recruiting has been since the turn of the century. You'll see just how many busts filled Fulmer's later classes, Kiffin's historically bad 2009 class, Dooley's downward trending classes, and the exceptional turnaround in recruiting once Butch took over.
Now, let me be clear: I'm the furthest from a Butchite, as I still think he has much to prove on the field (last year's UF game is still deeply troubling to me). I also do not like how he handles the media and how his staff feeds information to TOS regarding the team but withholds it from the local media. I realize this doesn't bother most posters on VN but I feel differently. I am also not a fan of some of his roster decisions, such as starting Jacob Johnson over Bynum in the Mizzu & Vandy games (he's not even a LB now), not to mention his delay in giving Dobbs the reigns last year (that's a dead horse though). But, all-in-all, I commend him on the job he's done rebuilding our roster and program. We have an excellent foundation for long-term success and I expect he will complete the mission in getting us back into the upper echelon of college football.
So, here's to an exciting and joyful 2015 season (and a trip to Atlanta!).

*edit: not all the players listed in the "Best Players to Play for Tennessee Since 2002" have their ratings included. I will complete it later and re-upload.
