Looking to buy a laptop for basic use. Windows OS.

I'm not a computer guy that knows what the best specs are, but I am a pretty great googler for reviews.

I'd like to spend less than $300.

Currently looking at the Lenovo IdeaPad 3i. It's on sale on the Microsoft website for $269.

Lenovo IdeaPad 3i 82H801GGUS 15.6 Laptop

Are the specs on this pretty good? Is there a different laptop under $300 you would recommend?

For basic computing that PC will work just fine. Having an SSD in a PC under $300 is a good find. The Ram at 4gb is the bare minimum for PCs nowadays, but should be fine. I have had 2 different Lenovo Ideapad laptops and never had any issues out of them.

My newish office Lenovo Thinkpad has been a great laptop. Will never buy another Dell.

I can't speak to the less expensive Lenovo models, though.

You can always upgrade the RAM. Very easy to do. I’ve done it on 3 computers.

Don't buy that one! It has a Pentium Gold!

Get a used one with some horsepower....

Just spend a grand on a MacBook and you won’t have to buy another $300 laptop next year and the year after ♾
