Has anyone been to a concert at the Atlanta or Greensboro Colleseums?

How was parking, hotels, etc?

Any recommendations, please.

Planning trip for mid March too one or the other.

TIA

I've been to the Phillips Arena in Atlanta (if that's the one you're referring to). It's a nice venue but it's absolutely huge. Size wise it's very similar to the Nashville Arena. So if you're going there for a concert I'd suggest spending the extra cash to get a seat as close to the stage as possible because the "nosebleeds" are pretty far away.

Parking wise it was a cinch because I paid for garage parking right there next to the arena (I don't remember what I paid though).

Thanks for the info On Phillips. It is the one I was referring.

Due to basketball season, I had too make a command decision and have decided on Greensboro. Already booked a room at the Hampton, just gotta get tickets now. They go on sale on 18 Dec and can't wait.

Thanks again!

No, I have not been to either of those places.

If it's for a concert, look for early on-sales. Artist, fan club, credit-card type with ticketmaster, etc.

Well, I checked. Doesn't look like ACDC does any of that. Just 1 general on sale Fri. Good luck.

The Hampton reservation clerk told me that the Inn is with in a mile of the coliseum.

Several restaurants next to the Hampton. Santa Fe, Hooters, Chilli's, and a Lone Star Steak House. (Leaning towards steak)

No inside parking at the coliseum, but huge lots. (Thinking Taxi)

If you're going to a different city for a concert, why go to a chain restaurant? Wasted time imo.

Before I decided to go to Greensboro, I was wanting to know if Phillips was easy to access, is it a safe area, etc...

ah, well for future reference, parking is somewhat expensive but there's plenty of it close to the Arena. That area is usually loaded with police patrols - so it's fairly safe.

You make get a little harassment from a panhandler or overly-aggressive scalpers, but that's about it.

If you're a beer drinker, don't wait an buy your first one inside as there is a premium on everything there. Hit up the Omni plaza food court next door; vendors there sell 32 oz tap beer for cheap! (Or check out the Taco Mac upstairs if domestics aren't your bag)

That sounds good! Are there any good hotels in walking distance there?
