We are actually very capable of winning this game. I'd love to see some luck go our way for a change.
Guess we'll see. The game starts in a few minutes.

Now that someone pointed it out to me in the last thread, I am beginning to realize how pathetic our defensive backs are playing.

Unacceptable play. It's actually pretty embarrassing.

On another note...those freaking insect-horns are driving me nuts.

Well, we are also showing ourselves to be pretty dirty.
Donovan is officially the only person on the field who looks like they want to win.

can we not get a red card next game and drop to 10 that would be nice. they come out in the second looking good then they are given a red card I know they were already in a hole but they showed promise for the first couple on minutes of the second half. Maybe they can beat Egypt sunday. They need to improve a ton during the gold cup. Dempsey is playing like crap Donovan has very little help. Tim howard is playing fair. What is going on with them being scored on off of their own corner! Maybe if Ching comes back we will play okay.

You know, I used to hate Ching, but after the last three or so weeks, it's clear we need him for his link up skills.

And why in the hell is the game with two Western hemisphere teams on three damn hours before the game with two Eastern hemisphere teams. What a sham.

Egypt is gonna beat us like we stole something. They just defeated Italy 1-0. That's funny the defending World Cup champs won't be moving on to the next round in this one.

It wasn't that surprising. The US is a better team. They seem to be intimidated easily.

There was nothing to be intimidated about going into that game.

Just a few posts back you even phrased your prognostication as "Going against everything I've seen in this tournament..."

You made a good call for sure. But it wasn't a slam dunk, especially that we would advance.

I didn't say it was a slam dunk, but I expected the US to do what they usually do against teams that aren't big named powerhouses. Win. I didn't expect the US to play like they had the first two games of the tournament, and I didn't expect the same effort out of Egypt.
