I just meant have 3 scholarship levels, we can name them whatever. So it can be A, B, and C. Then D can be non scholarship. Or 1, 2, and 3 scholarship levels, then 4 can be non scholarship.

UMass isn't great at football but at least they are FBS level. They should go with them. MTSU made the "jump" from Sunbelt to Conf USA and now Conf USA is the weaker of the two...

MTSU's biggest blunder was letting WKU talk them into staying in CUSA last year instead of joining the MAC when they both had invites.

I'm a bit surprised they're considering Florida A&M ahead of Jackson State.

MAC isn't that great either. They would be better off returning to the Sunbelt.

They didn't have an invite to the Sun Belt. And while the MAC is not an amazing conference, it is considerably better than CUSA. And the cost of travel for MTSU would have been greatly reduced, especially for the non-revenue sports.

MAC is stable. They play some good football at several schools.
Hard to imagine a better situation for MTSU, IMO.

It is probably better than Conf USA but the level of play for the MAC is sometimes considered the worse of all G5 leagues.
