Confidence was the difference in the uf game

I felt like I was watching the football team instead of the highly confident Pearl teams we're used to seeing. You know how our team is in all those close games over the years only to blow it in the 4th quarter because the other team KNEW they would win and we didn't really think we could. Well last night was like watching the whole bb season flash before my eyes. That team made a run to close the first half and any other year we blow them out. But Florida is a bunch of arrogant bastards this year and they feel they can win in any situtation and we feel we will lose. Know way we get beat that way. We have always played uf close over 6 years. That was a mentally draining game. Looked like pre Pearl era crap. Good luck in the torney guys.

They knew our strengths and weaknesses and they exploited them. Since they got into SEC play everyone seemed to know the book on UT. They were picked about where they finished so someone knew something and they were right.

The one thing i find odd is before SEC play Tennessee was getting to the foul line often, when they got into league play they didn't, what changed?

Well I seen a lot of calls go against UT this year. No ne can doubt that. Should we stillhave won maybe 6 more games? Yes. But it was almost like the sec was not going to let us win games. Pearl getting a tech last night was just crazy.

But this team just wilts anyway so there is no excuse.

They got no love from the refs all year, that will probably continue. Seems like since they started smearing him in the media, the refs have played along.

They should focus on Jim Tressel now but they won't. What he did was ten times worse and you're not hearing much at all. There is a media bias no matter what people think.

I wonder if that effects the kids too. Hard to get up when the world thinks you play for a dirty program. Hard to listen when they say your coach is the biggest moron in the planet.

It definitely had a effect, but this team was also missing a point guard and a good 5. No hiding that at times. I'd be lying if i said i wasn't disappointed in Bruce's current roster. Beyond Harris and Hopson there just isn't much there.

And I have to think Harris is gone next year. . .as much as it pains me to think about. I just don't see him staying when he's a first round pick.

ESPN did this. In the sports world and media world they know kids read that stuff. They made sure everybody and their momma knew Pearl was f'd up and that the kids should lose most games. We had the most negative marketing of any team out there. So the whole mindset was we are losers. So at the beginning of the season we had this us against them mindset, but without the talent that only goes so long. Then the doubt sets in.
