Kentucky or not, the Vols should be happy to end the season with a W.
My thoughts after returning from the game:
Neither team really wanted to win the game. Kentucky's failure to capitalize on crucial turnovers doomed them. I had a feeling that if the Cats cashed in TDs on the turnovers, then we see a more even game.
Kentucky's RB, Rafael Little, made a really dumb comment in the postgame. He said that he underestimated the Vols, since they lost to Vandy. It's just stupid, when you're Kentucky, to take any opponent for granted.
Tennessee's following was well-represented. Their band was top-notch. I did get a little tired of hearing Rocky Top, though. :biggrin2:
I have a feeling that like Tennessee, we'll see a few assistants fired in the next few days. The pressure is on for Brooks, who no longer has the excuse of probation. Next year's schedule lines up pretty good, with home games against Texas State, Central Michigan, Louisiana-Monroe, Vanderbilt, and Ole Miss. And we get Mississippi State on the road. 6-6 or better for Brooks, or he will be finished, IMO. It could happen. We started so many freshmen this year, that they will be more seasoned in 2006, and we will get back a baker's dozen of starters who didn't play much of the 2005 season due to injuries.
Congratulations on the win, and good luck rebuilding in the Spring.
