what a pathetic performance!!! Ok Worley haters you got your Dobbs. Wow he ran wild didn't he!!!

Looked pretty impressive to me. Had 80% of our offense and could have been more if Josh Smith could catch and linemen didn't hold on his 30 yard run. Dobbs is going to be a fine player for us.

Talent. Its just lack of talent. It will come, we all just want it to come now and its unfortunately going to be a couple of years. This incoming recruiting class will definitely get us going in the right direction and I expect them to win an SEC championship before they leave.

GO VOLS!!! I'm still FULL BUTCH

Dude get f ing real.... Mixzou is number 9 in the nation u idiot.... We aren't suppose to win.. If we would have great but giving up on butch is stupid and u are ignorant... Go suck an orange Popsicle u dumb@$$.... He is playing with dooleys left overs so to say u are done with him shows ur ignorance.... I'm done with all the stupid people on this board... U included OP!!!!!!!!!
Dooley didn't recruit Dobbs, butch did. I really thought and hoped that Dobbs was going to be the answer, but it was just wishful thinking. Hopefully he'll get better than he was tonight.

:question:Hmmmm, not sure how to respond to that. Just kidding, I agree 100% just a lack of talent but help is coming.

Not if you've eaten at the Shoneys in Prattville.

No worries Sparty. Your reputation as a Shoney's Gold Card member is unmatched. If you would like to join me at a better establishment known as Denny's just past the Hope Hull exit, I'm more than sure your dining experience will be expanded. :)

Instant gratification without putting in the time and work and getting the talent necessary to become a champion with no patience is fitting for some of these short sighted dumb a$$es

Our problem is we have a roster on offense that would work for a pro style offense but Butch Jones is implementing his offense no matter what. It will pay off in the future. This offense is proven to work but it just needs the right players.

I would estimate that we run about 12 read option plays a game, we spread the field but not every hand off is a read option. the team played in shotgun spread passing offense the last few years but what is hurting this offense is lack of play makers, we do not have CP, Hunter, Rivera and Bray, we lost a lot of play makers from last year.

A true Freshman QB making his first start on the road is not an ideal situation especially ,with young receivers and against a top 10 team.

I don't understand the reasoning of this board. While I agree that we didn't show up or play particularly well- specifically on defense where I'm finally starting to wonder why Justin Coleman is still in the starting lineup- that doesn't take away the fact that this Missouri team is not just a flat out better team than we are. I mean take for instance the top posts of this week and how they pointed to Dobbs having a big game and the Vols getting their big upset on the road. Posters went on for 10+ pages about it so apparently everybody believed it was going to happen. So since Missouri proved us wrong (like they were supposed to btw) don't you think that they're "for real"? I mean honestly are we going to sit here and say that we aren't buying in to Dobbs now- he's young, inexperienced and unproven but full of potential- for virtually the same reasons that we professed his immediate greatness in the first place? I'm also wondering why we're turning our back on Butch this soon too... Isn't this the same guy who was handed the wheel to a sinking ship that when the lack of talent and depth become apparent we start to question whether or not he can achieve this? In his first year no doubt? If I asked you to take over a business that was millions of dollars and asked you to get us out of debt then came back to you in 12 months and told you not only did I want you to get us out of debt but I expected you to make millions in profit so that we could compete with the #1 company in the country; how would you handle it? Remember your company is barely cracking the top 50 in the country....

At the end of the day, Team 117 needs to make it to a bowl and the Vandy in my mind has been and will be the most important game of the season. As the season winds down the anticipation grows and frustrations are amplified. The thing that upsets me is that I haven't seen Team 117 play since the SC game. I don't know who those 2 teams were that showed up against Bama and Mizzou. If the last Vol team that played at home shows up next Saturday then win or lose it will be fun to watch. Again if we can win against Vandy then Kentucky that gets us to 3 SEC wins- if I'm not mistaken the same amount Dooley could muster while he was here- and we can count this as a good first season for CBJ

I will say this...I thought Azanni was wrong all year for playing Josh Smith as much as he does. He NEVER fails to drop a crucial pass each game. He's a sure bet to kill at least one scoring drive per game. Croom had one drop that I can remember, but Josh Smith is consistently dropping passes. Mizzou spread us out with an array of big WR's and ran at will on us. We have 3 BIG WR's and we could take the same type of approach...but we stubbornly refuse to. Instead, we leave one of our biggest WR's on the bench and play Sir Drops-A-Lot, instead.

Our WR group should be North, Croom, Harris and Pig. Johnson, Smith and Blanc should only play in a backup role.

On defense...I'm afraid my initial reservations about Janzek are appearing to be true. We are better than last year, in most games, but I'm afraid we aren't playing anywhere near our talent level...except for Daniel Hood. He's way undersized...like a TE playing DT...and he's just bad. I'd rather start with O'Brien or Saulsberry.

I do think we'll improve dramatically, between now and next fall, on offense, though. Dobbs showed some good things tonight. It's just a shame he has to be thrown in playing the No.1 and No.9 teams in the country.
