I just read where Jared Mayo has won the Walter Camp National Defensive Player of the Week award for his efforts against Cal. Very impressive for it being just his second start. I can't say how proud I am of ALL of our guys. They came together and played as a team. All aspects of the game were working very well for us. What a great way to start the year. We've gotten past the first huddle, now it's time to get ready for Air Force.

Keep up the good work, Guys!!!

He played tough last night and he wasn't even 100%.

D is young but fast. They were awesome. Offense has turned around and Ainge looked great as well as runners blockers, and receivers. All around great job.

Here's an article about Mayo winning the Walter Camp defensive player of the week:

"The 6-2, 230-pounder finished the opener with 7 tackles, including 3 sacks for 20 yards in losses. He also broke up a pass."

Mayo got the Walter Camp National Defensive Player of the week after his monster game against Cal. He sure did deserve it, he was flying all over the field. I have a feeling the ol' Gators are going to get sick of hearing his name in a couple of weeks.

I'm surprised Rico McCoy wasn't more of a factor. I didn't really notice him making any plays, at least.

Didn't Mayo also win SEC Defensive player of the week?

Regardless, we were unstoppable on both sides of the ball. I'm with LIO on this one. Every one of our players did an outstanding job Saturday.

And I'm not a public school teacher. :p

My very first game as a UT student couldn't have been any better. Wow, what an atmosphere! I mean, I've been to UT football games before...but as a student, I don't know. It just seemed so much different.

That sounds silly, but either way, I absolutely loved it! Before the Florida game, I'll have to tell you all my section so you can look for me. :yes:

Another classic example of how wrong recruiting rankings can be. Karl was a two star defensive back.
