I missed the game as I had tix to see Steven Wright down here (he was hilarious, by the way and I highly recommend catching his show if you can). Obviously a huige win for you and I'd say it puts you on fast track for the NCAA tournament and of course you will be ranked. Wonder how far the Gators will fall with Duke and Wisconsin losing? Ah, well, all good things must come to an end. Glad my Vols friends on this board can make fun of my pick of Florida by 15. Guess I have to focus on the revenge game now.

Thanks LG . . . That was one of those games where both teams played well and neither deserved to lose. I think things would have been different if we were playing in Gainesville.

Yeah, a friend told me it was well played across the board. I don't mind losing that way. I just hate it when my team comes out flat or unmotivated or does stupid crap. So, believe it or not, I am glad that the Gators are simply walking around now and realizing they got outplayed.

Well, just because we are rivals in college athletics doesn't mean that we cannot also be friends.

well, i didn't get to see the game and not for such a good reason as going to see a stand up comedian....FSN here in Charlotte broadcast the CArolina Hurricanes hockey game in it's place....which obviously sucked for me....but i did get to hear the good news......

LG...too bad we have to play you guys in your place....wish it was like football, where when you lose, you got to think about getting revenge for a year, and not just a month....see y'all in G'ville.

I can't believe I am about to say this. Classy post Lawgator. Saying something nice about a Gator is very tough. Now I must go rinse my mouth out atleast 20 times, sing Rocky Top over and over untill the vile taste of saying somthing nice about a gtor disapears. LOL

Anyone with the name Toesucker should be put on your ignore list pronto!

It does appear, from today's rankings, that the Vols are going to have to buy Tshirts sayin, "We're #26.

The Gators played well, but the Vols were just too pumped to lose that one. It was a great win for Pearl's fledgling program. If the guy stays at UT you can bet there'll be a lot of victories to come.

What!? That's ridiculous. You had some losses earlier in the week, but come on.

Well, I thought the polls were out and we were still 26th in both. I saw that on another board. If that's incorrect information, it'll be the firt time I've ever read something on the Internet that's false.

I thought you jumped the gun, then I checked and saw that CNNSI said they'd already updated theirs and thought you were right and then I realized that we were both wrong again just now. I blame you for my confusion. :biggrin2:

Ah the upward and downward slopes of the polls. I'm exhausted now. :mf_surrender:

Coaches' poll out and has us NO. 20. How long has it been since we have been ranked this high?
we were ranked in the top 10 not too long ago...i can't remember the year, but we made it to the sweet 16...which was what, 5-6 years ago? we lost to UNC....but that season, and i could be wrong, i think we opened the season ranked like #7....

I think that was 1998 or 99. I just remember that in the Sweet 16 we had the ball and a 7 point lead on UNC with 5 minutes to go and completely melted down.

really? man, time flies...what was the guys name...Tony Parker? the little guy with all the tattoos....wasn't he on that team?

with the split years, bball all runs together!!!!! Plus with as many forgetable bball seasons as we've had, it's hard to place the few good ones...

Tony Harris . . . When he had the ball, he was one of those guys that made both coaches hold their breath.

yep, that's him....he could be as good or as careless as anyone in NCAA basketball when he had it.....

but at any rate, it's been a while since we've had a reason to get near anything close to excited about bball, and even that year, you could tell we weren't really THAT good....

This year, we still may not be THAT good because of depth etc.....but it sure has been a fun ride so far....i can't wait until they actually show a TN game on TV here in Charlotte, AKA ACC hell.

GO VOLS.
