Your son was a 7th draft pick and got a whopping $50,000 signing bonus and $537k/year for 4.
Trent Richardson got $20 million guaranteed for 4 including a $13.7 million signing bonus.
Just thought you would like to know the cost of cowardice and stupidity: about EIGHTEEN MILLION DOLLARS.

Its a shame for Bryce Brown. You certainly can't retire comfortably off $537k for 4 years.
$20 million guaranteed and you're good to go (assuming you don't roll with a posse
It is almost 100% certain that Bryce would be in a better position if he'd stayed at Tennessee.

Philadelphia Eagles RB Bryce Brown appears to be in the lead over RB Chris Polk for the No. 3 running back job.
Sounds like Bryce Brown is doing fairly well at Eagles training camp. All he has to do is prove himself for a few years and who knows what may happen. See Arian Foster...Foster was 4th string for almost 2 full NFL seasons before injuries elevated him to some playing time.
I'm a little confused on your math. You say Richardson got $20M + a $13.7M signing bonus. That's $33.7M. Brown got almost $2.2M with his bonus and contract combined. Assuming the two are equal players (which they aren't) I'm not sure how you came up with that $18M figure.

*edit 1 season not 2

FYI, Foster worked his way up the depth chart in his first season. He didn't appear in a game until like week 11, but started the last game of his rookie season, and was the starter at the beginning of his second season.
Edit: Whoops, missed your edit, LOL
Foster also had some help though. Everyone in front of him either started having a really bad problem with fumbling (Steve Slaton, the starter) or got badly injured (Brandon Tate rookie year; was another as well)
Understand though I'm not trying to take away from how far he's (Foster) come, but - while you're right about proving yourself being important - there is also kind of a (for lack of a better descriptor) "luck" component often in play as well
Philadelphia Eagles RB Bryce Brown has shown soft hands as a receiver since joining the team, and he showed off solid blocking in pass-protection drills Sunday, July 29. He appears to have a leg up in the battle for the No. 3 running back job over rookie RB Chris Polk
