So here's this young fella with a good voice, a nice ability to write a country song, and a face the girls don't mind. Three gifts from his parents and the good Lord.
And those gifts transform into a key to Shields-Watkins. A key to throw the ball around on the field some. A key to the locker room and a chance to reach up and tap the "Give my all" sign above the door.
What a blessed life Conner Smith is living. I hope he never gets to the point where he's taking any of it for granted. I hope he never stops thanking his parents. I hope he keeps in mind those other fellas and gals without the voice, without the face, who couldn't get into any of these places we all love to save their lives.
