The thread on basketball made me think. For all of those who are into firing and hiring coaches...look at how successful the b-ball program has been with all of the turnover that has occured throughout the years. In real estate, it's said, the 3 most important things are location, location, location. Look at UT's programs...women's basketball - consistency, consistency, consistency with the head and asst. coaches. Football - consistency, consistency, consistency with the head and asst. coaches. Baseball - consistency, consistency, consistency with the head and asst. coaches. Track and field - consistency, consistency, consistency with the head and asst. coaches. Men's basketball - turnover, turnover, turnover with the head and asst. coaches. Just a thought. Now everybody hit me with the stats that prove that it's different in Randy's case because I know it's coming.

I have a stat for you.

96% of Fire randy threads are useless.
The other 4% are pointless.

RS runs the offense that PF wants. Period. To get rid of this offense, you'll have to get rid of coach.

CPF is NOT going to hire in some offensive guru that will/could potentially gun for his job some day. CPF is winning a very high % of games with HIS offense, with no one there that he needs to keep an eye on. Why would he want to change?

Who would we replace RS with if he did go? Huh??? Name one proven offensive mastermind who is willing to make a "lateral" move to Knoxville TN so that he can get his hand held by CPF. There isn't one.

These "Fire RS" threads will get nothing done, except division and negativity. We should support our team and coaching staff. Period.

PS... This post is not directed at you mikey. I get the point you are making, and it is well made...

Thank you...the only thing I would say about your reply is that it wouldn't matter who they brought in...NOBODY can gun for Phillip's job. It's his as long as he wants it and he has earned that right.

If you are ok with consistently getting worse, that is your personal battle to fight.

I disagree mikey. He has earned every cent he has been paid. He has earned the right to remain head coach until his contract runs out. His yearly perfomance will dictate both the value and duration of his next contract.

I am a Fulmer supporter, but he isn't guaranteed the RIGHT to be out head coach. He must constantly earn it, as ANYONE should be expected to.

My thoughts, anyway.

And should be number two. People are tired of paying for a Lexus and driving a pinto.

Where would UT be ranked if their defense was ranked 103 in the nation?

Not very high because defense is what you win with. I'm not arguing that they have the best offense in the world, but the problems this year go WAY beyond "Randy sucks."

Trust me...it's his as long as he wants it. They will always be as good as they are now with him at the helm and he will hold the job until he's ready to retire.
