So from my understanding, "without cause" basically means you fire a coach that has no "real violations" with the program and it's usually because of W/L.

So if CCM is "squeaky clean" , the school has to give him at least a 30 days notice and give him money.

His contract runs into 2016.

I think Hart will let TN play out into the SEC Tourney but if we lose our first game it's over. That would mean they would announce him fired around April 15th.

This is probably the reason why the committee has an idea of who's going to be in or not a little earlier on. If a coach is on the hot seat and is on the bubble, the AD will want to know for sure where his team stands as soon as possible. I would be certain the AD or/and Conferences know.

"sneaky clean" is an interesting concept. Does it mean he has not been caught in his wrongdoing?

Sneaky or squeaky?

The decision may already be made, but the official firing would not be until after our final game

They still have to give CCM a 30 days notice.
It's in his contract.

I personally wouldn't tell him he's fired until after season. I would like to see our team win and not completely crumble.

The announcement comes on the 30th day.

Methinks OP meant squeaky clean rather than "sneaky clean", but perhaps he was inventing his own idiom for referring to coaches who give the appearance of being clean but really are not, such as John Calipari and Frank Haith; that is to say coaches who cheat or commit some other transgression but get away with it. I can't really tell if Cuonzo is squeaky clean or sneaky clean, but I know for sure that he's incompetent.
