Mods, if this needs to be merged, please do so. I couldn't find it upon a search.

Why is it that if a highly paid CFO or even a McDonalds drive through worker doesn't do his/her job up to standard, and gets fired, he/she is out of a job. No pay, no nothing. But if a coach doesn't perform, they can basically fly the golden parachute out of town. Makes no sense to me.

Shouldn't there always be a clause that states that winning is paramount and losing seasons void the contract?

It's like we went to Walmart to by a toaster, the thing didn't work, we brought it back, and we now have to buy three more toasters. But this is a person, in a job, who didn't perform up to standard.

I guess we didn't return the toaster soon enough. But even at Walmart there is a Lemon clause...

The only thing I see is there should be a steep payback if a coach leaves before the end of the term. Also, the buyouts should not be what they are if a coach gets fired. However, we all know its a business.

There should be no contracts in employment of any kind, if you don't produce you are out of a job. End of story.
