Ms. O’Donnell asked Mr. Coons if there would be any direct benefit from cap-and-trade for the company that he formerly worked for, a company whose current CEO is Chris Coons’ father in-law and which Chris Coons owns stock in.

Mr. Coons gave a typical politician’s answer that W.L. Gore would not benefit directly from cap-and-trade, in this quote, “to the best of my knowledge”. Well it would seem that either his knowledge is not so good, or he is intentionally misleading the voters of Delaware.

First it is important to know that Chris Coons was a lobbyist working for Gore-Tex, so he would be very aware of any interaction between the company and the government. So how did Mr. Coons miss the fact that Gore-Tex has already directly benefited from the green movement?

Under the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act, through the Department of Energy in early 2010, W.L. Gore has already received $814,000. They received $604,000 to re-equip two of their factories in Maryland and New York to produce the Gore Turbine Filter, used on natural gas turbines. They also received $210,000, to retool a factory that produces a key element in the manufacturing of fuel cells systems used to improve the efficiency of vehicles.

So it would seem that W.L. Gore has already directly benefitted from the green movement by having their facilities improved by tax payer dollars. Is it so hard to believe that a company that is already involved in this industry would see even more benefits from legislation such as cap-and-trade that would mandate even more compliance with government regulations on the emissions of carbon and greenhouse gases?

Gore manufactures fabrics in a facility in Shenzhen. The Shenzhen facility is also licensed to make certain electronic products.

A Gore joint venture company in Shanghai, Shanghai Bag Filtration Equipment Co., Ltd. manufactures filtration products.

Gore Filtration Products (Shanghai) Co. Ltd., which has offices in Shanghai and Beijing, is licensed to make and sell filtration and sealants products.

Germany: Gore plants are clustered in Putzbrunn and Feldkirchen-Westerham, near Munich, and Pleinfeld, which is close to Nuernberg. The Pleinfeld team focuses on electronic interconnect products. Associates in Putzbrunn and nearby Feldkirchen-Westerham produce fabrics, membranes, industrial sealants, filtration products, and vents. Medical product sales are centered in Putzbrunn. Gore GmbH also supports markets throughout the Middle East, Central Europe, Eastern Europe, and Africa.

United Kingdom: Gore facilities in Scotland produce electronic interconnects in Dundee. Two plants in Livingston are dedicated to fabrics and filtration products and medical sales.

BTW, there is a $1,000 reward out there for anyone who can find the term 'separation of church and state' anywhere in the US Constitution.

More on Mr Thievery and Cronyism:

Delaware voters are entitled to know if Chris Coons has financial designs on taxpayers and if Chris Coons intends to use a Senate seat to aide his cronies as he did with his New Castle County Executive job.

New Castle County Executive Chris Coons Voted To Open A Pension Loophole That Would Have Allowed County Employees To Buy Into The Pension System, Or To Transfer Credit From Other Government Service.

Coons Saw To It That His Buddies And Top Staff People — And All Six Of The New County Council Members And Their Staffs — Were Grandfathered Under The state pension Loophole Which Has, And Will, Cost Taxpayers Millions Of Dollars.

In 2004, while campaigning to become New Castle County’s top executive, Dem Chris Coons promised not to raise taxes. Since then he has raised taxes three times.

Are the Delaware political cronies helping themselves to pensions (thanks to Coons) also pocketing double dipping, working in government jobs, and/or collecting other government checks, like disability? (See Bell, Cali scammers.)

=========================================

Does the New Castle County executive handle the county's insurance? EXAMPLE In federal court, an insurance broker (in another state) colluded with officials in a massive bribery scheme:

-- Padding insurance contracts by $500,000 to $600,000 a year;

-- Several hundreds of thousands of dollars in profits from the insurance broker were funneled to the officials in exchange for support of the insurance contracts;

-- The purchase of an apartment as a favor to one official;

-- About $8,000 a month in payments to the official to keep the insurance contacts going;

-- A $20,500 Rolex woman's watch given to the official as a gift to an unnamed district employee;

-- A $35,800 Rolex men's watch was given to the official;

-- The insurance broker paid various personal expenses of the official, including the pay down of a $20,000 home equity line of credit; $12,747 in appliances; $5,850 for a plumber; and $13,592 to buy appliances for a relative.

-- The insurance broker was charged with stealing $216,000 from the muni for a nonexistent wellness program for muni workers. ...........the insurance broker is alleged to have lied to the school's insurance carrier, falsely stating that the muni authorized the insurance carrier to pay fees on behalf of the muni from its medical claims bank account for health care related programs and services that never existed. Charges including money laundering, conspiracy, forgery and theft by deception.

Would Chris Coons recuse himself from voting on military matters?
