This was an excuse I used in high school....I would say that the NBA and NFL are both "real sports" which is what you go for when playing ball in college.

It is beyond me why any competent basketball player would choose a school whose fans place the sport in the same league as field hockey in terms of interest.

Hmmm...seems like someobdy predicted a tough game for the tide. Let me see....I think it was 11/10, and I think he said something like:

"Steve Donahue’s Big Red, led by Ryan Wittman, will be a staunch initial opponent."

Who was that masked VN blogger?
Niagara should have beaten Auburn, too.

I guess it's too much to ask Alabama fans to be intelligent enough to follow more than 1 sport.

At least Kentucky fans actually support their football team. You guys had a #1 ranked team for a bit earlier in the decade and they were lucky if 1,000 of you inbreds came out to see them.

Calm down, I am not trashing basketball. I am just jerking your chains here in the thread that's enjoying Bama's loss. :)

Matter of fact, I have been a high school Bball coach for about 10 yrs.

Yep. No matter what your thoughts on Pearl, please remember that it could have been worse. Much worse.

What ever happened to Cliff Ellis down there, anyway?
Ellis replaced Buzz at Coastal Carolina. The same thing happened to him at Auburn that transpired at Clemson. He had just enough success to convince people that those programs could do better than him. Clemson was right, Barn was wrong.
