since he sucks at fb and wont give any effort why not switch him to DE and we'll have one more guy there for depth?

I wouldn't say he sucks at FB but he's not impressed me much since Freshman year....He'd be a big ole boy to line up across from...That might be a good idea...But I'd say we'll never know

I think he is exactly where he should be. I dont know what is his problem, he is doing something that most of the knoxville area HS players would love to do. Wear the orange. And to me he acts like he dont care. I dont see how you can go from having an excellent soph year to a medicore JR year, to being horrible as a senior. I feel that he has blown a perfect chance to go to the NFL. I just wish he would have some pride for his team, the orange, and where he came from. Just my opinion

We are more than halfway through his Sr. year and you think we should move him back to DE. He wouldn't crack the rotation by the end of the year. Also, if he doesn't give any effort at FB what makes you think that he will at DE.

First of all, he came to UT as a DE, but switched because he was having a hard time getting into the rotation. Secondly, where do you get off saying he doesn't put forth effort?

I do not know if this was directed at me or the person that started the post. If it was directed at me, I am more than aware that Anderson came here as a DE, but it is not like he is going to move back to DE and automatically be good enough fundementally or talent wise to earn any PT. Secondly, I didn't say that he doesn't put forth any effort, I was merely repeating what the person that started the thread said.

I was directing the post at whoever wants to challenge Anderson's work ethic. I will challenge anyone who says he is not putting forth effort. I've met him and he seemed like a hardworking guy. Also, unless you are a coach or someone extremely closely linked to the football team, you have no business declaring whether or not the guy is putting forth effort. Personally, I think a lot of his problems are due to our style of offense. Cory is best in a power running game. That's not exactly UT's forte this year. Also, I wasn't advocating a move back to DE. If he couldn't get it done before, he's not going to get it done now.

First of all, I agree 110% with your statement that if he couldn't get it done at DE before he can't now. I also agree with you about him being best in the power running game. Once again, I was not the one questioning his work ethic at all. It was the person who started the post. THEY stated that he wasn't putting forth an effort at FB so we should move him to DE, I was just asking them that if we moved him to DE that would make him put forth an effort since he isn't, ACCORDING TO THE PERSON WHO STARTED THE THREAD. I think with our lack of a running game, which is caused by several reasons not just the FB, our offense benefits more from an extra TE or WR thus the lack of playing time from the FB.

I do not think that we can even start to have a power running game with a blocking FB. Anderson was not getting the job done at the beginning of the season and that is why we know have a TE at H back instead of a TB and FB. Holbert was not getting the job done either. FB has been one of the weak spots for our Offense this year which leads to the lack of running game along with suspect run blocking coming from our OL. I dont know why Anderson is not playing (blocking) like he use to. As a Soph he was a good FB. Now he is not even seeing the field for more than 5-10 plays a game. I do not think that the reason that we have no running game is all of the FB's fault but it has a lot to do with it. In my opinion.

whatever you do with him it won't really matter but if that floats fulmers boat maybe they could put Chris Brown at DE too since he sux and he's big...and move the DE to FB and TE maybe UT will beat LSU and Arkansas.

Whats the deal w/ Holbert? i thought that he was the highest rated FB in the country.when he came to UT.
I would like to see him get more playing time.
I have nothing really good to say about Anderson so i guess i'll keep my mouth shut.

I think he was the 1st or 2nd highest FB comming out of HS, like you said. I think that he is about in the same boat of Anderson. Both of them have been horrilbe this year blocking.

well i didnt say he didnt put fourth any effort but im sayin in terms of effort it takes to be a good player he isnt at all. Everyone has to put up effort to do anything so obviously he giving some effort,, but he looks like he's puttin about 10% in and anyone that says he's giving his all has been watching in another world!

That is retarded. He isn't doing well, so he isn't putting forth effort? That is a leap in logic. JT Mapu hasn't been doing that well either. I guess you can go ahead and assume that he is not a hard worker. I'll say it again. Unless you are a coach or player, or somehow you are on the practice field every day with the Vols, then you have no right to say anything about any player's effort.
